1. Popular Fort Worth restaurateur to open new spot combining Mexican & BBQ. A new restaurant near TCU will combine two of Fort Worth’s favorite cuisines: barbecue and Mexican food. Called Holy Cue, it will open later this year at 2420 Forest Park Blvd., in the Parks Center shopping center. The restaurant comes from local restaurateur Mary Patino Vasquez, founder of Enchiladas Ole.
2. Cafe in Fort Worth's Stockyards rebrands with cocktails and retro vibe. A longtime Fort Worth restaurant recently changed hands: Star Cafe and Cocktails, which has been at 115 Exchange St. in the Stockyards in one form or another for nearly 90 years, has a new owner, menu, and new focus on cocktails.
3. Hurst-based owners of BoomerJack's Grill unveil new sports bar concept. A sortof-new sports bar concept is debuting in Dallas-Fort Worth: Called District 21 Sports Kitchen, it is an offshoot of the BoomerJack's chain and is opening four locations across DFW including Denton, Murphy, Mesquite, and Dallas.
4. Supermarket chain Sprouts Farmers Market to open in north Fort Worth. Saginaw, it's your lucky day: On Friday, June 28, the North Fort Worth area will see the arrival of a Sprouts Farmers Market, the fast-growing healthy grocery chain, which will open a location at 4525 W. Bailey Boswell Rd.
