It's another big weekend of events around Fort Worth, featuring a nice variety of choices to please almost any taste. They include a viral take on baseball, an Oktoberfest, seven concerts, screenings of a new film, an opera, haunted house openings, a TV/politics rally, and the final days of a notable art exhibition.

Thursday, September 24
Fort Worth Oktoberfest
The Fort Worth Oktoberfest is a three-day celebration of German culture with the best in Bavarian entertainment. It kicks off with the ceremonial "Tapping of the Kegs" and continues with carnival rides, dachshund races, Siegi’s Sausage Brat Eating Contest, bier barrel rolling, stein hoist competitions, the Oktoberfest 5k, and more. The festival takes place through Saturday at Trinity Park.
Chayanne in concert
Puerto Rican pop singer Chayanne is the true definition of a lifer in music. For 14 long years following his 1984 debut album, he lived on the edges of the industry, only barely cracking the Billboard Latin chart. But he broke out with his 1998 album, Atado a Tu Amor, going on to release four No. 1 albums on the Latin chart that also did well on the overall Billboard 200. He'll play at Dickies Arena.
Jayson Arendt in concert
Singer Jayson Arendt is a former college baseball player-turned-singer whose music reflects his life experiences, blending the stories of his athletic past with the heartfelt narratives of everyday life. He appeared on the most recent season of American Idol, auditioning in the jersey of the Banana Ball team Texas Tailgaters, who he'll play with this weekend in Arlington. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Magnolia at the Modern: I Love Boosters
I Love Boosters is an absurdist crime comedy that stars Naomi Ackie, Keke Palmer, and Taylour Paige as a crew of professional shoplifters who steal high-end clothes to sell at a steep discount, viewing their work as community service. Soon, the “boosters” find themselves in a cat-and-mouse game with a cutthroat fashion maven (Demi Moore). Blending action, fashion, and social commentary, I Love Boosters’ ensemble cast includes Don Cheadle, Will Poulter, and LaKeith Stanfield. The film will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Opera Arlington presents The Magic Flute
Opera Arlington presents Mozart’s classic The Magic Flute as you’ve never seen it before: transported to the land of Oz, where a yellow-brick road leads into a technicolor realm of witches, wizards, and magic beyond the edge of the known world. As Mozart’s beloved characters venture beyond the familiar, their journey carries them from the shadowy forests of Oz to the glittering gates of the Emerald City. There will be performances on Friday and Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington.
The Savannah Bananas will play at Globe Life Field in Arlington, September 25-27.
Savannah Bananas vs. Texas Tailgaters
The Savannah Bananas, a professional baseball team that has become a worldwide sensation for their entertaining style of play, make their Globe Life Field debut in a three-game series against the Texas Tailgaters. The teams play a fan-involved and fast-paced style of baseball called “Banana Ball,” which features unique rules such as no bunting or walks, fans catching foul balls for outs, and a two-hour time limit. There will be three games through Sunday.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents "Brahms and Haydn, Together"
The latest concert from the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will give the audience a double dose of Brahms, featuring the composer's Variations on a Theme by Haydn and Double Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Orchestra, as well as Haydn’s “London” Symphony. The concert, conducted by Robert Spano and featuring pianist Dejan Lazić, will have three performances through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.
Haunted house openings
Halloween season finally kicks into high gear with the opening of the remaining haunted attractions in the Fort Worth area. Among the places looking to elicit screams from visitors are Moxley Manor Haunted House in Bedford, Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth, and Hangman's House of Horrors in Fort Worth. Each of the attractions will be open on select days through at least October 31.
"Weird Al" Yankovic in concert
Comedy singer "Weird Al" Yankovic comes to Fort Worth as part of his Bigger and Weirder tour. He will play his iconic hits as well as some fan favorites which have never been performed live. Yankovic has released 14 albums in his career, most recently Mandatory Fun in 2014. He'll play at Dickies Arena.
Whitey Morgan and the 78's in concert
While the vast majority of country bands emerge from the South, occasionally a popular group can emerge from another music-heavy city like Detroit. Whitey Morgan and the 78's have released four albums since 2008, most recently Hard Times and White Lines in 2018. They'll release their first new album in seven years, Hell on the Highway, later this year, with the title track being released on Friday, just in time for this concert at Billy Bob's Texas.

MS NOW Live: Together in Texas
MS NOW will present its annual viewer-focused event, Together in Texas: We the People 2026, uniting the network's journalists and audience in the home of one of the nation's most hotly contested Senate races. Attendees will experience conversations with top newsmakers; insights from MS NOW hosts like Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O'Donnell, Jen Psaki, and more; and opportunities for interaction and connection with the MS NOW community. The event takes place at College Park Center in Arlington.
Phil Wickham in concert
Contemporary Christian singer Phil Wickham has been parked in the top 10 on the Billboard Christian chart for 20 years, releasing a new albums every 2-3 years with no drop in popularity. Along the way he's also collaborated with other top Christian artists like Brandon Lake, Crowder, and MercyMe. He'll play at Dickies Arena in support of his 2025 album, Songs of the Saints.
Billy Currington in concert
Country singer Billy Currington had a hot start to his career, finishing at or near the top of Billboard Country chart with his first six albums and chalking up 11 No. 1 Country Airplay songs since 2006. After taking a break from releasing albums in the late 2010s, he's put out two more in the 2020s, most recently King of the World in 2025. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Rashid Johnson: "A Poem for Deep Thinkers" closing day
Sunday will be the final day to view Rashid Johnson's "A Poem for Deep Thinkers" at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. It is the artist’s largest exhibition to date and his first major museum survey in more than a decade. Johnson, one of the most acclaimed artists of his generation, is known for his diverse practice, which spans painting, sculpture, film, and installation, all of which are included in this exhibition.
