For three days, the iconic Fort Worth Stockyards will become the ultimate destination for Western style, creativity, and culture. From runway shows to exclusive shopping experiences, live entertainment, and more, Fashion Week Stockyards Style is where Western tradition meets modern style — and you don't want to miss it.

Here's a look at the must-attend happenings during this haute fashion weekend in the heart of Fort Worth.

Legends of the West
In this must-attend session on Western style, you'll hear from the trailblazers who helped shape Western fashion, alongside those who are carrying the legacy forward. Television personality Kirbe Schnoor will lead a conversation featuring Tucker Brown, Susan Maddox, Cheryl McMullen, Mamie Brown, Mercedes Bloomer, Mitchell Franz, and Mud Lowery.

Kimes Ranch First Friday — Fashion Week Edition
Then, on Friday afternoon, head to this happy hour kickoff for Fashion Week. Grab a drink, enjoy live music from the Donovan Amaya Band, and soak up the Stockyards atmosphere as the weekend gets underway.

Saturday afternoon will feature this runway experience with a Western twist, showcasing the latest in rodeo wear and today’s most captivating Western trends. Strike a pose on the turquoise carpet, sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails, and experience Western fashion in a whole new way. The show is hosted by Kirbe Schnoor and will feature a special performance by country artist Madison Paige.

Modern Masters of the West
Throughout the weekend, this one-of-a-kind fine art collaboration pairs 12 premier Cowgirl Artists of America with popular Stockyards retailers for an immersive art-meets-fashion experience. Explore the creative side of the West through art, fashion, and retail as you glimpse original artworks, meet the artists, and discover new fashion collections.

Fashion Week fun is sprinkled throughout the Stockyards all weekend long with exclusive in-store experiences, special collections, and more opportunities for fashionistas not to miss. There will be plenty of ways to customize your Western-chic look, from boot branding at Old Gringo Boots and a pin bar by Robi at Maverick Fine Western Wear to chain stitching at John Wayne Stock & Supply and jewelry engraving at Sassy Pantz boutique. JCPenney to close Ridgmar Mall store after 50 years in Fort Worth

JC Penney at Ridgmar Mall is closing its doors for good.

The JCPenney store at Fort Worth’s Ridgmar Mall is closing November 1, the Plano-based retailer says.

“Regretfully, we are unable to continue our current lease terms for this store location and have been unable to find another suitable location in the market,” JCPenney says in an emailed statement.

Going-out-of-business sales have begun.

JCPenney has been a fixture at Ridgmar since 1976. Dillard’s remains open, but anchor tenants Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Sears vacated the mall years ago.

Tentative plans call for the 75-acre, 1.2 million-square-foot enclosed mall to be redeveloped as a mixed-use property.

After JCPenney closes the Ridgmar location, 13 stores will be left in Dallas-Fort Worth, including the location at Fort Worth’s Alliance Town Center. Other Fort Worth-area stores are in Arlington, Burleson, Hurst, and Weatherford.

Nationwide, JCPenney operates roughly 640 stores but continues to shed locations. The current store count is down from a little over 1,000 in 2016.

In 2025, JCPenney merged with SPARC Group to form Plano-based Catalyst Brands. Other retailers owned by Catalyst are Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Lucky Brand, and Nautica.

Retail expert Robin Lewis has offered a blunt take on the Catalyst merger: “Bundling a group of loser brands in loser malls doesn’t make for a winning formula.”

Weighed down by billions of dollars in debt and amid a sales decline, JCPenney filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2020 and later that year emerged from bankruptcy. Analysts generally say JCPenney has stabilized since then but note the retailer’s turnaround isn’t finished.

Still, JCPenney seems to remain popular with shoppers. This year, USA Today’s 10Best awards program named JCPenney the best department store chain in the country, based on input from shoppers and readers.
