Where to shop in Fort Worth right now: 8 hot stores and sales for July
In true Fort Worth style, a Rhinestone Cowgirl pop-up takes top billing in this month's Where to Shop roundup. It's also time to stock the holiday gifting closet with James Avery charms, then scoot over to Kendra Scott for a magical world of Disney bling. Catch up new reasons to trek up I-35 to the Tanger Outlets, too. Here are eight great ways to spend some cash this month.
Rhinestone Cowgirl x Hotel Drover
Touting itself as "Western wear with a rhinestone flair," this Nashville-based boutique will pop up at Hotel Drover in the Fort Worth Stockyards for one night only, Saturday, July 20. Shop for over-the-top, Western-glam apparel or a rhinestone-studded cowgirl hat (their signature item) from 7-10 pm. The pop-up is part of the hotel's "Let’s Go Girls!"-themed Backyard Unplugged event, which will also feature live music by female country music tribute artists and themed signature cocktails. The event is free and open to hotel and non-hotel guests alike.
Spring Step Shoes
This family-owned footwear brand recently opened its first local store at Tanger Outlets Fort Worth. Based in Pompano Beach, Florida, Spring Step Shoes offers collections for men and women - Patrizia, L'Artiste, Azura, Flexus, and Spring Step - in styles ranging from comfy slippers and casual sandals to chilly-weather boots and pretty heels. They have a VIP Rewards program, and there's a big sale on summer styles happening now. The new store is at 15841 N Frwy., #1185, Fort Worth.

These may be the daintiest "hidden Mickeys" yet: Texas-based jeweler Kendra Scott has teamed up with Disney for Disney | Kendra Scott, a new collection that incorporates Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse into pendants, earrings, bracelets, and more, with prices ranging from $65-$150. As extra incentive, 20 percent of proceeds from the Mickey Mouse Corded Bracelet will be donated to First Book, which supports children's literacy. The collection is available now in all Kendra Scott stores and online at KendraScott.com and DisneyStore.com.
Nordstrom
The Seattle-based department store's highly anticipated Anniversary Sale, their biggest event of the year, started July 15 and runs through August 4. Basically the whole store (and site) is on sale, including coveted brands across women’s, men’s, children, beauty such as AllSaints, Barefoot Dreams, Barbour, BÉIS, Charlotte Tilbury, Sam Edelman, Save the Duck, St. John, Stuart Weitzman, Supergoop!, UGG, and many more. Orange Twist
New in Alliance Town Center: OrangeTwist, a beauty and skin care center that provides advanced non-invasive treatments for the body, face and skin. The menu includes CoolSculpting, HydraFacial, Botox, Ultherapy, and more. A membership program offers special perks and discounts, and gift cards can be purchased easily online. James Avery Artisan Jewelry
The beloved Texas-based jeweler hosts its summer Charm Event through August 5, and this year there's an exciting addition: The deal includes their iconic dangle rings, too. During the event, customers can purchase two charms and receive a free charm holder, up to a $78 value. Or purchase two charms and/or pendants and an eligible bracelet, necklace, or dangle ring and receive up to $78 off the transaction. (Consult the website for the fine print.) In time for the sale, James Avery has introduced its new summer charms (like a Texas charm featuring colorful wildflowers). The event is happening at all James Avery retail stores, online, at participating Dillard's department stores.
Agit
Grapevine Mills has a new shop for affordable men's and women's casual clothing, streetwear styles, and accessories. According to Community Impact, Agit opened June 28. It's the brand's first store in Dallas-Fort Worth and their third in Texas, behind two Austin-area outlets. Find it in the mall across from Spencer's, at 3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy., Ste. 416, Grapevine.
Ulta Beauty
The highly anticipated beauty superstore has opened its doors at Tanger Outlets Fort Worth. The 11,280-square-foot retail space aims to be a one-stop shop for all things beauty: cosmetics, fragrance, skin care, haircare, and more. Salon services also are offered. Ulta is located near Guess at the Main Entry of the shopping center in far north Fort Worth (15841 N Frwy.).
By the way, Ulta is just the latest in a number of recent openings at the outlet center including:
- Coach reopened in a new and freshly renovated space near Bath & Body Works.
- Specialty sports store Rally House recently opened next door to Under Armour.
- Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop made its sweet debut near Skechers.
- LOFT is now open in a newly renovated space next to Francesca’s.
