Apple re-opens its only store in Fort Worth in University Park Village

Apple store
A newer bigger Apple retail store has debuted in Fort Worth: Apple University Park Village is now open in a bigger and better location within the shopping center at 1540 S. University Dr. #F104A, in the storefront next door to Eatzi's.
The storefront next to Eatzi's used to be a smaller space occupied by The Impeccable Pig boutique. But the Impeccable Pig scooted over two spaces, taking part of what used to be Jos. A. Bank, while the remaining part of the Jos. A. Bank space fused with the former Impeccable Pig space to become the new Apple Store. Is that TMI?
The original Apple store in University Park Village opened in 2008, so that's 17 years. Speaking of 17, this Apple store in University Park Village is one of 17 stores across Texas, more than 250 in the US and over 500 globally. There are six total in DFW, if you count the one at DFW airport. Other locations are in Southlake, NorthPark, Galleria Dallas, and Dallas' Knox Street.
A fact sheet says the new store is bigger than its predecessor, although they do not volunteer square footage. An Apple spokesperson says they are checking with the team on this info.
The fact sheet says the Apple store in University Park Village has an overhauled design, centered around "universal design principles" with tables and seating of varied heights for product discovery.
There's also a claim that the Apple store in University Park Village will be Apple’s most sustainable store in Texas, although the fact sheet does not quantify why. An Apple spokesperson says they are checking with the team on this info.
The Apple store in University Park Village is also the first Apple store to feature a designated combined Apple Pick Up and Genius Bar area. There does seem to be a benefit to having a dedicated pickup area, if you've ever walked into an Apple store wanting to get your phone and been directed to chill while someone gets to you, because there is never a sense of urgency at an Apple store.
But is the combined pickup area and Genius Bar a benefit? Because, regardless of where the Genius Bar is located within a store, customers are still required to make a Genius Bar reservation for technical and hardware support. No walk-ins. One supposes there could possibly be a benefit to separating the serious business of support from the sales riff-raff.
The Apple store in University Park Village will sell Apple’s full lineup of products, including iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch SE 3, and AirPods Pro 3. The fact sheet does not scrimp on details in this area.
