Canada audio technology company relocates headquarters to Fort Worth

The Patch by Flock Audio
An audio manufacturer from Canada has relocated its company headquarters to Fort Worth: Called Flock Audio, it’s a family-owned company specializing in audio hardware and software, now operating at 403 S. Jim Wright Fwy. in White Settlement in an office park right off 820.
The company makes audio equipment for engineers and sound people. Its customers consist of recording studios, broadcast studios, production facilities, and the like.
It was founded in 2017 in Kelowna, BC, Canada by married couple Darren and Jess Nakonechny in their garage.
According to a company spokesperson, they began considering a relocation a few years ago, and felt a connection to Fort Worth.
"On a personal level, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for Texas," Darren says in a release. "Growing up in the prairies of Alberta — often referred to as the "Texas of Canada"—I was immersed in a similar blend of industry, values, and western culture."
"I’ve always known that we’d one day expand and relocate to the U.S., and when that time came, there was no question in my mind it would be Texas," he says.
The new space spans 5,000 square feet, which doubles their production and services and includes updated workspaces, improved testing areas, and a full audio production suite.
Flock doesn't face much competition in the area, either, according to Darren. They operate within a unique segment of the professional audio technology space. Their products include Patch, a bay for live sound connections, and Switch, an audio instrument routing controller for up to eight instrument plug-ins.
"At our scale, combining innovative hardware and software for digitally controlled analog routing, there are no direct competitors offering the same level of technology, integration, and global reach," he says.
The timing proved fortuitous given the current debate over tariffs for products imported outside of the U.S. And most of their customers are located in the Southwest.
"With the United States representing the largest market in professional audio, it made sense to position ourselves closer to our core customer base,” Darren says. “We chose Fort Worth specifically because it offers the resources of a large city while still maintaining the charm and connection of a close-knit community.”
