Mixed-use apartment community breaks ground on Vickery in Fort Worth
A new mixed-use community is coming to Fort Worth's Vickery Boulevard: Called The Vickery, it's a new multi-family development featuring apartments, restaurant, and green space, being built on five acres at West Vickery and Hemphill Street, overlooking Downtown Fort Worth.
National real estate developer, investor and operator, Trademark Property Company, who bought the land and secured financing for the project in December 2023, marked a ground-breaking on February 22.
According to a release, the project will consist of 307 apartments, 14 townhomes, a standalone restaurant building with a second story cocktail lounge overlooking downtown, and a central public green space with pickleball courts, dog parks, and pocket parks.
The residences will offer high-end, luxury finishes and a best-in-class amenity package, including a coworking lounge, electric vehicle charging stations, an indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge and a heated resort-style pool.
The Vickery represents the redevelopment of a "brownfield" site - a former drainage detention area - into a community-centric destination that will serve the fast-growing population at the edge of downtown and the Near Southside district
Fort Worth helped establish a Tax Increment Finance District (TIF) that paved the way for improved sidewalks, lighting, public spaces, and other upgrades to the surrounding infrastructure.
“Groundbreaking is a huge milestone both for the project and this fast-growing region, as multifamily construction starts are down due to the challenged capital markets environment,” said Chad A. Colley, Trademark’s multifamily and mixed-use partner in a statement. “We are proud to bring these high-quality residences and community amenities to Fort Worth, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents in Spring 2026.”
The multifamily buildings at The Vickery will be designed, constructed, and operated to be healthier, more durable, have lower operating costs, require less maintenance, and promote a sustainable way of living. The project – along with all future Trademark multifamily developments – will adhere to National Green Buildings Standards (NGBS), which positions properties to meet the needs of the current and future market and qualifies for a LEED Bronze certification.
Trademark’s current portfolio includes Galleria Dallas, Lincoln Square, Left Bank, WestBend, Waterside, 5000 S Hulen and Alliance Town Center in Dallas-Fort Worth; plus projects in Houston, Cypress, Corpus Christi, Kansas City, Missouri, Maryland, Atlanta, and Baton Rouge.
“With over 30 years of experience in creating and maintaining premier retail-driven mixed-use communities, The Vickery will be a culmination of our expertise in placemaking and development,” said Terry Montesi, founder and CEO of Trademark Property Company. “We are excited to break ground in our hometown of Fort Worth, and we will continue to build on the momentum with more projects in the pipeline.”
