Many exciting openings coming to Fort Worth and more restaurant news
This roundup of dining news around Fort Worth includes some openings, a closing, some cocktails, and some pop-ups. There are more seasonal menus, and nearly all of the major food groups are covered: tacos, burgers, coffee, and chocolate.
Here's what's happening in Fort Worth restaurant news:
Salad and Go has opened a location at 12556 N. Beach St. with salads, wraps, breakfast burritos, seasonal soup, lemonades, organic teas, and cold brew. Meals are fresh and made-to-order from a drive-thru. All salads and wraps are $5.74 and include chicken or organic tofu, or steak for an upcharge. Each salad fills a 48-ounce bowl. Menu items include Cobb, Caesar, and BBQ Ranch, plus seasonal creations, with house-made dressings. Breakfast features $1 organic cold brew and five burritos for $2.99. They also have three new seasonal items: Winter Harvest Salad with beets, sweet potatoes, farro, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, feta cheese, Romaine, and organic mixed greens, with choice of chicken or tofu, topped with a new Champagne Vinaigrette, available as a salad or wrap; Three Bean Chili which is vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free; and Sangria Lemonade. This is their second Fort Worth location.
Golden Chick opened a location at 901 E. Berry St., at the intersection of I-35W in Fort Worth. It's their 18th restaurant in Fort Worth/Tarrant County and their 88th in Dallas-Fort Worth. The location features Golden Chick’s new prototype design, with a new digital interior menu system and media wall, while the interior boasts the latest Golden Chick classic décor package.
Meehan's Chophouse and Henry's Cigar Lounge is a massive new 12,360-square-foot steakhouse with cigar lounge opening at 101 S. Main St. in Mansfield, in a space previously occupied by a Mellow Mushroom pizzeria. Originally projected to open in spring 2022, the opening is now being forecast for November.
Tiff's Treats is holding a grand opening celebration its two new DFW locations on Saturday, January 22 from 10 am-12 noon. A Chisholm Trail store is at 5903 McPherson Blvd. The other is in Little Elm at 211 E. Eldorado Parkway #200. Ticket holders who are in line before 9:45 am are eligible to win gift cards and prizes.
Scooter's Coffee is opening two new drive-thru locations in Cleburne and Burleson. The Omaha-based chain does espresso drinks including its signature Caramelicious, plus smoothies, pastries, hot and iced teas, single-origin coffee and cold brew & cream. A release announcing the locations does not identify actual addresses, but says that both are "in development" with plans to have them up and running in spring and fall 2022.
Crockett Hall, the food hall in the Crockett Row area, has closed. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a Permanently Closed sign was on the door, along with a letter notifying tenants that the locks have been changed.
Flips Patio Grill just released their burger of the month, The Buffalo Bleu. Made with a 50/50 patty topped with Buffalo sauce, Bleu cheese queso, bacon crumbles, and caramelized onions served on a brioche bun, it's available through January 31 at both locations in Fort Worth and Grapevine.
Chetra's Kitchen, the Bedford restaurant whose chef/owner Chetra Chau was a Best Chef nominee in CultureMap's 2021 Tastemaker Awards, has debuted brunch, with a new "fusion brunch" menu that includes breakfast tacos, a "slutty" breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, and choice of bacon or sausage, avocado-shrimp crostini, chicken & waffles, coco-buttermilk pancakes, and omelets. Here's a good one: It's available every day.
El Pollo Loco has three new "Dos Locos Salads" that pair popular LA-Mex comfort foods like chicken taquitos and cheesy quesadillas with organic super greens, avocado, lettuce and pico de gallo. Cheesy Quesadilla Salad has cheese quesadillas, chopped chicken, greens and lettuce, fresh sliced avocado, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. Chicken Taquito Salad has chicken taquitos, chicken, super greens and lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and queso fresco. Unwrapped Chicken Burrito Salad has a flour tortilla, chicken, super greens and lettuce, avocado, pico de gallo, and queso fresco.
Taco Cabana is debuting its all-new Cabana Salad starting January 19 featuring Romaine lettuce topped with black beans, monterey jack & cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and tortilla strips, accompanied by a side of fan favorite Salsa Ranch dressing, for $3.79. They also have Cabana Bowls with crispy tortilla shell bowls filled with rice, refried beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and choice of Chicken Fajita, Steak Fajita, Shredded Chicken, or Ground Beef, or Beyond Meat, for $5.59. In addition to the return of Salsa Ranch, they're also bringing back Salsa Fuego and introducing a new Jalapeño Salsa.
Luna Grill has four new Mediterranean bowls: Classic Mediterranean, Keto, Vegetarian, and Vegan. It starts with the Classic Luna Vida Bowl featuring salmon on lettuce with lemon vinaigrette, Greek cabbage, chickpea salad, cucumber, tomato and feta drizzled with housemade tzatziki. Keto Bowl swaps in spicy feta., while the Vegan and Vegetarian Bowls swap falafel for salmon.
Bonefish Grill has new seasonal dishes and cocktails including Alaskan sablefish topped with spinach and jumbo lump crab, Baja Scallops + Shrimp Scampi Pasta, and molten Chocolate Lava Cake. Winter White Cosmo has Reyka Vodka, Cointreau, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, white cranberry juice, lime juice, and frozen cranberries.
Flower Child is featuring a special Whole30 menu item during January by cookbook author Alex Snodgrass: Alex's Epic Baked Meatballs have grass-fed beef, cremini mushroom, cauliflower risotto, tomato, cashew, and basil, and are $16.
Topo Chico Hard Seltzer has a new flavor: Topo Chico Ranch Water Hard Seltzer, with effervescence, lime juice, and tequila flavor. It comes in a 12-pack of 12 oz slim cans, with 4.7% alcohol by volume and 100 calories.
Frito-Lay has new Lay's Layers, a multi-dimensional potato "bite" with layers of crispiness, in two flavors: Sour Cream & Onion, and Three Cheese, blending cheddar, parmesan, and gouda. From what it looks like on the package, the chips seem to be ball-shaped with a wavy chip membrane across the center.
Einstein Bros. Bagels has a new Take & Toast Bagels line, now available at Walmart. They're ready-to-bake bagels in five-packs in the most popular flavors for $4.48 per sleeve: Plain, Everything, Cinnamon Raise, and Asiago.
AT&T Stadium has entered a three-year partnership with Sweet Earth, featuring their plant-based Mindful Chik'n in dishes that include: Buffalo Chik'n Nachos, Touchdown Tater Tots, Chik'n Avocado Wrap, and Chopped Chik'n Salad.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit has issued its second cookbook, called Behind the BBQ: Recipes, Cocktails & Tall Tales, featuring recipes from Dickey's family members, employees, franchise owners and more. Created with the help of Southwestern Publishing House, it's $35 and can be purchased online.
