Best restaurants for Valentine's Day 2019 in Dallas-Fort Worth

Romance will soon be in the air when the biggest date night draws near: Valentine's Day on February 14. All sorts of restaurants are getting into the game with an array of dinner options that are varied and, in some cases, surprisingly affordable. You can show that someone you love them and not break the bank.

These are the Dallas-Fort Worth restaurants offering Valentine's Day specials. Note: All events are on February 14, unless otherwise noted.

Bird Café
Four-course dinner offers choices in each selection in addition to an a la carte menu featuring Bird Cafe’s most popular dishes. Choose from lobster bisque, raspberry gazpacho, Brussels and orange, charred tomato ravioli, pan-seared monkfish, Akaushi ribeye with cheddar polenta, chocolate silk, or sugar cookie cheesecake. 5-10 pm. $75, plus $35 for wine pairing available. 817-332-2473.

Black Walnut Cafe
Three-course meal includes choices from chicken nachos, spinach-artichoke dip, lobster-shrimp mac, fish tacos, steak Orleans, chipotle chicken pepper pasta, crab-stuffed branzino, and any dessert to share or two small gelatos. February 9-17. $38 and up. Regular menu also available.

Blue Mesa Grill
Special menu for two includes 64-ounce jar of margaritas, plus choices from panko-crusted crab & shrimp cakes; shrimp, red chile salmon, blue crab, and shrimp enchilada with chipotle cream sauce; beef medallions with chimichurri, asparagus, and potato-chile tart; chocolate-dipped strawberries; and two glasses of sparkling wine. Bonefish Grill
Three specials for Valentine's Day celebrations include filet & lobster Thermidor with filet mignon and jumbo shrimp topped with lobster in a creamy Thermidor sauce, with choice of two sides; martini with passion fruit, pineapple, Reyka vodka, and Aperol liqueur; and a chocolate lava cake.

Buca di Beppo
Special feature consists of a heart-shaped lasagna, served with choice of a mixed green or Caesar salad, garlic bread, and two mini cannoli. 5-10 pm. $50 for two. 214-361-8462.

B&B Butchers & Restaurant
Staying in? The prime steakhouse is offering a smorgasbord in a box that comes with two appetizers, an entrée, three sides, two desserts, and complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries. Choose two apps from lobster bisque, Caesar salad, B&B meatballs, or Chef Tommy’s bacon box, and for dinner, chateaubriand, beef Wellington, or filet mignon. (Entrees will need to be prepped at home, but cooking instructions are included.) All dinners come with roasted Brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, and mac and cheese, along with choice of two from chocolate cake, an artisan cheese selection with truffle-infused honey, or New York cheesecake. The feast is available February 13 through 16 and is $130 plus tax. Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance, and flowers can be added.

Cantina Laredo

Carrabba's Italian Grill
Four-course dinner for two comes in three options, with choices from tomato Caprese with burrata, mozzarella marinara, calamari, lasagna, linguine Positano with chicken, spaghetti & meatballs, shrimp & scallops linguine alla vodka, sirloin Marsala, chicken Bryan, tomato basil salmon, or rib eye with spicy Sicilian butter. Desserts for two include choice of cannoli cake or ogno di cioccolata. February 4-17. $45-$65.

Cedar Creek Brewery
Three-course meal includes French onion soup topped with Gouda, served with French baguette; 8-ounce ribeye steak with shrimp and jasmine rice; and raspberry cobbler with ice cream and berries. Beer pairings come with each course and the meal includes a custom-etched glass for each diner. February 13, 6 pm, 7 pm, or 8 pm. $100 per couple. 903-432-2337.

Cool River Cafe
Three-course meal includes choice of Caesar or Cool River salad with apple, bleu cheese, and candied pecans; filet & lobster for two with Boursin smashed potatoes and steamed broccolini; and chocolate mousse cake. February 13-19. $155. 972-871-8881.

Cowtown Brewing
The three-course barbecue dinner includes a salad, smoked prime rib with smoked potatoes au gratin, and a chocolate dessert with choice of one Cowtown craft brew or a glass of wine for $35 per person. The menu will be offered from 6-10 pm, but advance tickets are highly recommended because when the ‘cue is gone, it’s gone.

Cotton Patch Cafe
Sirloin special features 6-ounce Angus sirloin, garlic mashed potatoes, and side salad. February 14-17. $11.

Cru
Four-course dinner includes lobster bisque and choices from asparagus & burrata salad, crab-stuffed shrimp, lobster capellini, butter lettuce & poached pear salad, filet mignon, scallops, rack of lamb, potato-wrapped sea bass, red velvet tiramisu, white-chocolate mousse, or molten chocolate cake. 5-11 pm. $55. Four locations in Fort Worth, Dallas, Plano, and Allen.

Doc B's Restaurant + Bar

Ellerbe Fine Foods
After a mezze course with roasted beet hummus, crudités, and crispy pita, three courses will offer soup or salad, mahi mahi or chef’s choice steak, and for dessert, toasted coconut and citrus tres leches cake or choux a la crème with dark chocolate ganache and vanilla bean cream custard. The meal is $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and wine pairings may be added for $35 more. Reservations run from 5:30-9 pm.

El Chico
Three-course dinner for two includes tableside guacamole, fajitas with steak, chicken, shrimp, and baby back ribs, plus tortillas, rice, frijoles rancheros, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Dessert is cheesecake nachos – cheesecake & whipped cream on sweet cinnamon chips, with walnuts, chocolate, and cajeta. February 13-17. 5-10 pm. $33 per couple. At 7 El Chico locations in Flower Mound, Granbury, Mesquite, Pantego, Richland Hills, and Rockwall.

FnG Eats
There are two seating times available — 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm — for the special four-course dinner from the popular Keller restaurant. Guests get lots of choices, including pan-seared bacon-wrapped scallops, several steaks, or wood-grilled Alaskan halibut. The dinner is $65 per person plus tax and gratuity, and there are wine specials, too.

Gypsy Scoops
The Race Street ice cream parlor will serve “freak shakes” made with over-the-top ingredients and toppings, like moon pies, cotton candy, and s’mores. Patrons can customize their own or choose from a menu of options, including a Valentine’s version made with strawberry ice cream and a frosted rim topped topped with red velvet cake and chocolat- covered strawberries. Shakes will run $12 to $15 (the latter is meant to be shared) and will be served from 12:30-8:30 pm.

Hop and Sting Brewing
In case you missed it, Grapevine Craft Brewery is now Hop & Sting Brewing Co., and the indie brewery will partner with Grapevine’s JudyPie bakery for a sweet and savory dinner pairing. Visit Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for four pie courses, including rosemary, goat cheese and pear galette; chicken pot pie; strawberry rhubarb pie; and German chocolate cake, each served with a different beer. Tickets are $39.99, which includes tax and gratuity, and the pairings will be served from 5-8:30 pm.

Hyatt Regency Dallas
Four-course dinner at hotel restaurant Parrino's Oven includes half dozen oysters to start followed by choices from brown-butter sunchoke soup, grass-fed beef tartare, beet salad, Texas Akaushi beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, lobster newberg, and tartufo for two. Diners can also add table-side linguine, served in a parmesan wheel with shaved black truffles. February 14-16. $75. 214-712-7144.

LAW Restaurant at Four Seasons Resort Dallas
Special "The Food We Love" a la carte menu includes deviled eggs, crispy oysters, charcuterie, wedge salad, corn veloute with masa fritters, angel hair with crab, crispy masa with avocado and black beans, whole red snapper, 36-ounce porterhouse, lobster mac, and lamb chop. Personalized Moët & Chandon bottle of Brut or Rose, with two pink glass flutes to take home, can be pre-ordered. February 14-16. 972-717-2420.

Lonesome Dove Western Bistro
Tim Love’s Valentine’s Day menu starts with a tapas trio of lobster fritters, butternut squash wontons, and pork ravioli with tomato jam. Other highlights from the five courses include Malpeque Bay oysters, filet Oscar, and espresso crème brulee with churros. Reservations are $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Add $50 more per person and upgrade the entrée to a Tomahawk steak for two with forest mushroom mac and cheese and asparagus.

Olive Garden
Special Dinner for Two includes soup or salad, breadsticks, choice of entrée for two from five-cheese ziti or chicken Alfredo (+$6), and choice of dessert for two from mousse cake or tiramisu. Now through February 14. $35 and up.

Perry's
Set menu will be offered on February 14. 5:30-11 pm. $75.

Pinstack
Special "Meatball to My Spaghetti" is a one-pound meatball made from wagyu & brisket blend, filled with mozzarella and topped with ricotta. $20. Specially-priced carafes for $20 include rosé, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, pinot noir, and sauvignon blanc. Pairing options include Caesar for two ($8) and strawberry cheesecake cobbler ($7). February 8-16. At Plano, Las Colinas, and Allen.

Shannon Brewing Company
Did somebody say bacon fudge? It’s on the menu at the Keller brewery, where guests can enjoy four brews paired with four types of fudge from The Dark Fudgery. There’ll be strawberries and cream wheat ale with cayenne fudge, hazelnut chocolate stout with cinnamon fudge, Irish coffee cream ale with hazelnut fudge, and Shannon’s Love N Haze brew with that yummy bacon fudge. Seating times are 6:30 pm and 7:45 pm, and tickets are $25 per person.

Simply Fondue
Four-course dinner begins with complimentary glass of champagne and a cheese fondue appetizer with vegetables, breads, and fruit. Choice of salad precedes main course with tenderloin, bourbon-chicken kabobs, salmon, garlic chicken, shrimp, and stuffed mushrooms. Dessert is chocolate fondue. $74. 214-827-8878.

Social House
The prix-fixe menu offers four courses, with choices for each. There’ll be goat cheese beignets, crab cakes, lobster bisque, filet mignon, and ice cream-topped chocolate brownies. The dinner is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and reservations run from 6-9 pm.

Soulman's Bar-B-Que
Special Valentine's Day dinner for two includes one-meat plate with two sides or baked potato, dessert, and 16-oz drink. $25 for two. At all 21 locations.

Taste Project
The non-profit restaurant will serve five courses for $300 per couple at their Taste the Love Dinner, and proceeds benefit their mission to feed, educate and serve the community. Menu highlights include crab and avocado salad, cioppino, porterhouse steak, and a chocolate dessert. Seating times are available between 6 and 7 pm and guests may BYOB.

Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill
Special dishes include chipotle cherry BBQ pork tenderloin, shrimp & butternut squash risotto, salmon, filet mignon, blackened rib eye, maple-roasted butternut squash & arugula salad, spicy fried cauliflower, and whiskey bing cherry bread pudding. Truluck's
Exceptional dish selections for sharing include Florida stone crab; chilled seafood with shrimp, oysters, crab cocktail, and crab claws; Maine lobster; miso-glazed sea bass with crab fried rice; redfish Pontchartrain with crawfish tails, shrimp, blue crab, Creole sauce, and rice pilaf; Alaskan king crab; and a specialty cocktail named TruLuv with vodka, orgeat, strawberry rhubarb syrup, and Aperol. Wild Acre Brewing Company
Skip dinner and head straight to dessert at the Fort Worth brewery, where guests can get a flight of four beers paired with eight Girl Scout cookies for just $15. There’ll be live music and a pizza food truck for those that are still hungry. The pairings will be served from 5-8 pm.

Winslow’s Wine Café
Truffle mac and cheese or lobster mac and cheese? That’s one of the choices to be made on the set menu of four courses, which will run $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. Other menu highlights include seared Scottish salmon over risotto and red wine braised short rib. Plan for bubbly and chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. Seating times are available from 6-8 pm.
