Beyonce's favorite steakhouse comes to Fort Worth's trendy Shops at Clearfork
A Houston-based upscale steakhouse and traditional butcher shop will open a second location in Fort Worth. Called B&B Butchers & Restaurant, it will open in September and be one of the first restaurants at the Shops at Clearfork.
B&B Butchers & Restaurant is an upscale steakhouse and traditional butcher shop located in Houston's historic Dittman Bakery building. It serves Texas and Japanese Wagyu beef as well as in-house dry-aged USDA Prime beef, all hand-cut in the butcher shop.
It's a favorite haunt for Houston's queen Beyonce, who has dropped in more than once with husband Jay Z, daughter Blue Ivy, and her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, while visiting her hometown.
Proprietor Benjamin Berg says he wasn't looking to expand, but it made perfect sense, since his slaughterhouse is in Fort Worth.
"I've fallen in love with the quintessentially Texas city and its people, who remind me a lot of Houstonians, with their love for philanthropy, art, food, and all things Texas," he says in a release.
B&B opened its doors in June 2015. In addition to positive reviews from local and national media, the restaurant has received accolades for innovative design and outstanding food and service, including a 2016 award from Preservation Houston for the rehabilitation of the former Dittman Bakery Building, and a spot on the "Top 100 Steakhouses in America" by Open Table.
B&B also earned a certification by the Kobe Beef Association in Japan, and is one of only nine restaurants in the U.S. offering 100 percent authentic, A5 certified Kobe beef from Tajima cattle.
Beyonce's picks have included calamari, oysters, Wagyu carpaccio, Alaskan king crab legs, crab-stuffed shrimp, fried chicken and waffles, B&B Bellini cheesecake, and crème brûlée. CultureMap Houston food editor Eric Sandler likes their carpet bagger oysters, consisting of fried oyster topped with steak, bacon, and blue cheese, calling them "just fun to eat."
The restaurant will be located in the center of the Shops at Clearfork, just south of Neiman Marcus. It'll include a dining room and butcher shop downstairs, private dining rooms, mezzanine, and partially covered patio overlooking the Center's park.
Clearfork is the master-planned, mixed-use development on the Trinity River with luxury living, dining, retail, entertainment, and office space.
