Yay for good news: Grimaldi's Pizzeria at Clearfork Fort Worth is back
Bucking the coronavirus closure trend, a pizzeria in Fort Worth is reopening: Grimaldi's Pizzeria, the chain known for its New York-style pizza, reopened its location at The Shops at Clearfork, where it will offer delivery and carryout service from 11 am-9 pm daily.
Grimaldi’s is an institution, dating back to 1990 when they opened their first location under the Brooklyn Bridge. The chain is noted for its coal-fired, brick-oven pizza, although they've modified their original approach of using just a coal-fired brick oven by going with a hybrid oven, which is only probably interesting to people who really care about things like pizza ovens.
The chain came to the DFW area in 2007, and opened the Clearfork location in December 2018. But then COVID-19 shut down Clearfork in March, and most businesses in the shopping complex followed suit.
"The Grimaldi’s Clearfork location initially closed when the landlord of The Shops at Clearfork closed the entire property out of an abundance of caution," the owners say in a statement. "In the weeks since, the viability of offering pic-up or delivery only has been proven at other locations, so the shopping center permitted restaurant operators to reopen with these limited services."
Not to mention, Gov. Greg Abbott just decreed that retail stores could be open as of April 24, although on a to-go basis only.
In addition to pizza, Grimaldi's menu includes appetizers, salads, and Italian-inspired desserts.
The Grimaldi's at Clearfork will offer family meal deals to make ordering even easier for customers. The deals include:
- Meal Deal 1 ($25, feeds two) – One 18” Traditional Cheese Pizza, one House or Caesar salad, two fountain drinks
- Meal Deal 2 ($40, feeds four) – Two 18” Traditional Cheese Pizzas, one large House or Caesar salad, four fountain drinks
If you want additional toppings, they're at regular menu price. The deals must be ordered by phone, and are for carry-out only. They can't be combined with any other offer or discount.
They're also offering 50 percent off bottles of wine; $6 single bottles of beer; and 6-packs of beer for $15, carryout only. The standard Grimaldi's menu is available for delivery through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and GrubHub.
