Celebrate National Wine Day by learning why the shape of wine glasses matter. This class will lead participants through a tasting of four wines (from Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet) in Riedel glassware specific to their varietal. Taste the difference and even take the glasses home if desired. Class is $60 (or $125 if keeping the glassware) and begins at 6 pm.

Texas Steakhouse cooking class at Central Market
As part of its "Really Into Texas" event, the Fort Worth Central Market cooking school hosts a hands-on cooking class featuring Texas steakhouse favorites. Learn how to make Lambert's Chopped Salad, Texas Rib-eye with Three-Pepper Compound Butter, Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake with Ice Cream & Caramel Praline Sauce, and more. Registration is $75 per person, and the class begins at 6:30 pm. Through May 31, the gourmet grocer will continue spotlighting Texas-made and locally sourced items throughout each store, including Dr Pepper ribs, brisket corn dip, Gulf oysters, Texas tomatoes, and buttermilk pecan pie, and more.
John Wayne Day in the Fort Worth Stockyards
An all-day event at the Stockyards' John Wayne: An American Experience museum will celebrate the Hollywood icon's 115th birthday and include some fun bites and sips. It will start with a coffee tasting by Gold Handle Coffee (9-11 am), a new brand that commemorates the traditional gold-handled mugs John Wayne always gave the cast and crew of his films. Then there'll be a complimentary tasting of Duke Spirits from 12-4 pm, featuring John Wayne’s line of whiskeys and tequila. A cake-cutting ceremony with members of the Wayne family will take place at 12:45 pm, followed by a meet-and-greet until 3 pm.
Meet the Maker: Jefferson’s Bourbon at Toro Toro Fort Worth
Learn about Jefferson’s Bourbon with sips, bar bites, a live Q&A at the downtown Latin steakhouse. Visit anytime from 5-7 pm for the complimentary tasting, then enjoy happy hour at the Toro Toro bar. Free valet parking will be provided.

Cowtown Unplugged at Omni Fort Worth Hotel
Delicious dishes and live acoustic music combine for a Texas-themed holiday weekend staycation. The Omni Fort Worth Hotel hosts its twice-yearly Cowtown Unplugged country concert event for hotel guests. This year features Max and Heather Stalling and headliner Hayes Carll. A preshow dinner, reserved for VIP package holders, features house-smoked buffalo brisket, honey habanero pork spare ribs, charcuterie, passed hors d’oeuvres, and several sweet treats including Dr Pepper cupcakes. All packages include a Texas-themed breakfast buffet the next morning. Packages start at $299 per couple.
