Chicken restaurant Wing It On! hatches first DFW location in Fort Worth
UPDATE 7-13-2022: Wing It On! will open July 15.
---
A new wing joint has come to Texas, bringing "wings 'n wiches" to Fort Worth. Called Wing It On!, it's a small chain based in North Carolina that's opening its only location in Texas, in none other than Fort Worth.
The restaurant is going into a new center in the far southwest corner of Fort Worth, at 5329 Sycamore School Rd. #105, where it'll be open for dine-in or takeout, from 11 am-11 pm Sunday-Thursday, and even later Friday-Saturday, from 11 am-12 am.
A spokesperson says it'll open in the next few weeks.
Wing It On! was founded in 2011 by young entrepreneur Matt Ensero, who was driven by his desire for crisp, not soggy, wings. He opened the first location in his hometown Waterbury, Connecticut before relocating the company to Raleigh in 2020.
This will make nine locations, not including one that opened in Spring, Texas in 2021, but has since closed. Sad.
Wing It has a simplified menu featuring Buffalo-style wings and boneless tenders, plus chicken sandwiches, sides, and customizable seasoned fries.
There's the usual lengthy list of sauces and rubs, from honey mustard to lemon pepper to mango-habanero to their signature red-hot Buffalo sauce.
Eight sandwiches feature buttermilk fried chicken with varioius toppings such as bacon and cheddar cheese.
Fries come in two options - regular or waffle - and can be ordered plain or with choice of dry rub seasonings such as Cajun. Two sides include slaw and corn, and dessert consists of a brownie.
But they do introduce new items such as the current new dish, bite-sized dumplings filled with chicken.
The concept is coming to Fort Worth via franchisee Kishor Neupane, who knows the chicken world, having previously owned and operated a number of successful Golden Chicken restaurants.
"I'm thrilled to join an exciting brand like Wing It On! and be part of their entrance into the Dallas-Fort Worth area," Neupane says. "From the fresh, delicious and diversified menu items, to their commitment to top-tier food safety standards and creating the ultimate fan experience, there’s nothing else like them. I think Fort Worth citizens will come to love Wing It On! and make it their go-to place for all things chicken in the months ahead."
