Iconic Fort Worth restaurant Lucile's to expand with 2nd location

After 33 years, a Fort Worth dining institution is expanding: Lucile's Stateside Bistro, which has been serving American favorites at 4700 Camp Bowie Blvd. since 1993, will open a second location in Colleyville, at 5204 Colleyville Blvd. in the former Zafiros Mexican Grill y Cantina, which closed in late 2024.
According to a post from the City of Colleyville, the new location represents a long-term lease, bringing Lucile’s established Fort Worth dining experience to Colleyville, where it will open in late 2026.
In a statement, Colleyville Mayor Bobby Lindamood said, “We are excited to welcome Lucile’s to Colleyville! With their strong following and high quality dining, they are a perfect fit for our community.”
Owner Bob McLean first opened Lucile's — named for his mother — in April 1993, in a century-old building with restaurant history: Starting out as Steve's Cafe during the Great Depression before giving way to Finley's Cafeteria and then Black Eyed Pea.
Lucile's serves lunch and dinner seven days a week along with breakfast and weekend brunch, focusing on American classics with daily blackboard specials.

They're known for dishes such as chicken-fried steak, lobster bisque, eggs Benedict, Maryland crab cakes, and lemon basil pasta.
Time-honored traditions include the annual Lobsterama fest, featuring specials on live Maine lobster and succulent lobster rolls; weekend bananas Foster flambeed table-side; and ice-cold dirty martinis shaken at the historic dark wood bar.
They update their menu regularly including recent additions such as Wagyu French Onion Meatloaf featuring a meatloaf with Wagyu beef, caramelized onion, and melted Gruyere cheese over mashed potatoes, with French onion soup ladled on like gravy, then garnished with fried onion straws; and veggie "spaghetti" arrabbiata featuring zucchini, squash, and carrot "spaghetti" tossed in spicy arrabbiata sauce with spinach, Kalamata olives, and mushrooms.
They've earned many an award including a nomination for Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year at CultureMap's Tastemaker Awards in 2024, as well as making the list of best restaurants to take out-of-town guests.
According to the City of Colleyville, the lease represents a collaborative partnership between Lucile’s restaurant, the property ownership, and the City of Colleyville, reinforcing continued investment and growth within the local dining and retail corridor — underscoring the city's commitment to attracting established, high-performing restaurant concepts that enhance the community’s retail and dining landscape.
