This week in gluttony
These are the 5 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

This week is all about outdoor celebrations. There’s a tropical-themed luau, a patio party at a popular restaurant, and even a day-long livestream covering everything about outdoor grilling. End the week with not one but two Independence Day weekend blowouts at two local breweries.

The H-E-B (Virtual) Grilling Open
The beloved Texas grocery store chain will host its first-ever Grilling Open — a 12-hour livestream event filled with grilling tips, cooking techniques, celeb appearances and recipes featuring everything from breakfast to dessert. Texas celebrities set to grill from their own backyards include Camila Alves McConaughey, musicians Aaron Watson and Randy Rogers, Houston Astros player David Bregman and more. There’ll be interactive trivia and games, and convenient links to purchase featured products. The event will run from 8 am to 8 pm on the store’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
Let’s Have a Tiki…Texas-Style Thursday at Live! By Loews
The Arlington highrise hotel located just next to Globe Life Field has launched a twice-monthly Thursday night luau, complete with live music from a local ukulele trio. Guests (including non-hotel guests) can visit the hotel’s Clover Club Lawn for all-you-can-eat Polynesian and South Pacific bites ($22 per person), and authentic tiki drinks made with Cruzan rum available for purchase. The event runs from 6-11 pm and will be held every other Thursday throughout July.

Wild Acre Brewing Co.’s 4 + 5 Anniversary Palooza
Two anniversaries and a July 4th party combine for one big celebratory blowout. The downtown Fort Worth brewery will break in their new live music stage with the music of the Quaker City Night Hawks to commemorate both last year’s and this year’s anniversary. The $35 “Buzz Pass” comes with two 24-ounce beer pours and a Wild Acre souvenir cup. The $15 ticket grants admission for the concert, and drinks can be purchased individually. The brewery’s kitchen will be open serving hot dogs and Salsa Limon will be on-site. The party runs from 5 to 10 pm. Bring the kids, as children 10 and under get in free.
Sunday, July 4
Brews and Booms at Panther Island Brewing
Watch the fireworks from Fort Worth’s Fourth from this nearby brewery and tap room. A $15 ticket purchased in advance will get you four Panther Island Brewing pours and a souvenir plastic 16-ounce cup. Tickets will be $20 at the door, and additional tickets after entry will be $10. The Funky Calavera food trailer will be on-site and doors open at 12 pm. Fireworks will start at 9:30 pm. Guests may bring their own chairs, but not outside coolers or drinks.
