Fort Worth dogs will drool over this new pooch-friendly cantina
Tarrant County dogs can begin panting: The Fort Worth location of Mutts Canine Cantina — the innovative restaurant-bar-dog-park that provides an urban oasis for dogs and their owners — will open its second location, just around the corner from The Shops at Clearfork, on October 4.
Managing partner Michelle Boggs says in a release that Fort Worth was the ideal place for a second location. "We are looking forward to providing a local spot where community members can relax and meet other dogs and their owners," she says.
Kyle Noonan and Josh Sepkowitz opened the first Mutts Canine Cantina in Dallas' Uptown neighborhood in 2013. It's not your average dog park, but instead is a dual-concept with a walk-up bar and food options such as Mutts Original Chicken Sandwich, burgers, and milkshakes.
There's also a "doggie menu," HD TVs, picnic-style tables, Adirondack lounge chairs, dog wash stations, and more.
Two fully-enclosed fenced dog parks expand over an acre of land, with space for dogs to exercise, run freely, and play in shaded and unshaded areas, while their owners relax and socialize.
The dog park is accessible with a Day Pass, Monthly Membership, or Annual Membership, which includes free Wi-Fi, rangers who provide water and pick up your mess (and your dog's), and a dog-washing area.
Canine-centric special events include weekly "yappy" hours, movie nights, dog days of summer, dog birthday "pawties," and more. Annual events include the Howl-O-Ween costume contest, Pupsgiving, Santa Paws, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Hours are 6 am-10 pm daily. The Cantina hours during daylight savings time are Monday-Friday 3 pm-10 pm, and Saturday-Sunday: 9 am-10 pm.
The park will throw a grand opening event on October 4 from 3-10 pm with happy-hour prices all day, and on October 5, as well, including $3 draft beer and frozen cocktails. During opening weekend, first-month memberships will be available for the price of a day pass, which is $8.95.
