Some amateur chefs look forward to the kitchen marathon that is Thanksgiving dinner, while others prefer to let the actual chefs handle all the chopping, stirring, and roasting. If you're in the latter camp, then Eatzi's has you covered.
The European-style market and bakery opened its first Fort Worth location — and fifth overall — at University Park Village in May. There you'll find the seemingly endless bounty of chef-crafted options, which range from sushi and grilled items to custom salads and sandwiches to fresh-baked bread and pastries, plus a curated selection of beer and wine. But there is also the super-convenient bonus of ordering a complete Thanksgiving meal, where you don't have to do anything more strenuous than pick up the phone or visit the market.
Now until November 21, you can order Thanksgiving classics and a few not-so-traditional items. Choose from oven-roasted or cranberry-chipotle glazed turkey breast, then supplement with black pepper and sage gravy or cranberry sauce.
For sides, how does bacon-balsamic Brussels sprouts, green bean amandine, macaroni and cheese, broccoli rice casserole, and cheesy green chile grits sound? There are also three kinds of potatoes: butter whipped, smashed sweet, and Gruyere and spinach gratin. You also have your choice of cornbread or sausage stuffing — or get both. You'll be wearing stretchy pants anyway, right?
Parker House rolls (in wheat and white), cornbread (jalapeño and traditional), and brioche (fruited or pumpkin) round out the carbs. To say you got your greens in, there's a grape and walnut salad tossed with Point Reyes bleu cheese.
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a plethora of pies, so Eatzi's has several from which to choose. Apple, pecan, and pumpkin join the decadent sweet potato-chocolate chess pie, with pumpkin swirl cheesecake adding another sweet choice to the mix.
Select menu items will also be available in the market from November 16-22, but keep in mind that Eatzi's is closed on Thanksgiving Day. To help avoid any day-of cooking disasters of your own, best to order ahead and just focus on enjoying the time with friends and family.
