Bye-Bye Buttons
Fort Worth supper club spinoff turns out the lights for good
The Addison branch of Buttons, the jazzy restaurant and supper club from chef Keith Hicks, is calling it quits. According to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page, the lease had ended and the rent hike was too high.
The original branch in Fort Worth is still open.
After having much success in Fort Worth, Hicks opened this second branch on Addison Road in 2010.
Its combination of down-home Southern food and live music, not to mention the chandeliers and sexy banquettes, created a glamorous, festive atmosphere. Its enforced dress code gave customers the excuse to dress up for date nights and girls' nights out.
The menu featured signature dishes such as gumbo, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles, for which Hicks earned many nods. It also hosted a popular Sunday brunch buffet, with biscuits and gravy, grits, fresh fruit, and omelets.
"We want to thank everyone who supported us, and made our time in Addison such a pleasure," said the restaurant on its Facebook page. "We have reached the end of our lease, and could not find a path forward that was feasible for us to continue."
"We want to express our thanks to our staff, and to all the musicians who helped make magic," the restaurant said. "We have had the honor of meeting many great people, and we have always striven to make Buttons a great place to work, a great place to meet friends, and a great place to enjoy live music."
