Steak-loving Firebirds Wood Fired Grill makes Texas debut in Fort Worth
UPDATE: Firebirds opened on Monday, February 14.
---
Claps for Alliance Town Center for landing the very first location in Texas of Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a restaurant concept opening at the master-planned community in north Fort Worth's AllianceTexas development in early 2022.
According to a release, the restaurant will be located at 2900 Amador Dr. in north Fort Worth and will open in late January or early February.
Firebirds was founded in 2000 in Charlotte, N.C. as a steakhouse, and was early on the wood-fired grill trend. As of early 2021, they had more than 50 locations in 19 states up and down the East Coast, as well as the Midwest, Oklahoma, and Phoenix.
The menu features fire-grilled steaks and seafood, but also burgers, chicken, pasta, soup & salads, and sharable desserts. The average check is under $25 for lunch and under $35 for dinner.
Appetizers include deviled eggs, Philly cheesesteak rolls, lobster spinach queso, smoked wings, and onion rings.
Entrees include aged rib eye, Cajun rib eye, and blue cheese filet. There are baby-back ribs, pasta with shrimp or chicken. Not much in the way of vegetarian, however, what up with that, unless you want to order sides which include baked or mashed potato, au gratin potatoes, seasoned steak fries, tater tots — plenty of potato options, that is for sure.
Desserts sound and look good including cheesecake, chocolate cake, carrot cake, chocolate brownie, and a 5-layer lemon cake. Who doesn't like lemon cake.
Decor is described as warm and hospitable with light-colored woods, charred black brick, floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed steel, contemporary light fixtures, abstract artwork, and a color scheme of teal, orange, and red. An open concept provides views of the kitchen, wood-fired grill, bar, and lounge. There's also a multi-seasonal patio.
One of their signatures is a dramatically lit bar, from whence they pour cocktails, wine, local craft beer, seasonal drink specials, plus unique bar bites.
In a statement, Firebirds' CEO Steve Kislow expresses their delight in bringing their concept to Texas.
"After careful deliberation and research, we know that Fort Worth's vibrant culture and authenticity aligns perfectly with our values and deep sense of community," Kislow says.
Hillwood senior VP Mark Miller says in a statement that they're excited not only to welcome Firebirds to Texas but also to expand Alliance Town Center's culinary offerings.
"Known for its high-quality food, ambiance and top-rated service, Firebirds will most certainly enhance the north Fort Worth restaurant scene and provide an atmosphere that is perfectly suited for business or casual dining," Miller says.
