Cheers to top Fort Worth restaurants for brunch on New Year's Day 2021
Shake off the chill of what looks to be a wintry New Year’s Eve night with a warm, decadent brunch on New Year’s Day. Several restaurants are breaking out their brunch specials Friday morning and welcoming patrons to patios and socially distanced dining rooms for plenty of bloody Marys and black-eyed peas to go ‘round. Call ahead to check on to-go options, too, of course. Here are some of the best New Year's brunches in Fort Worth. (If you're looking for places to go on New Year's Eve, that list is here.)
B&B Butchers & Restaurant
The fancy Shops at Clearfork steakhouse will host its annual New Year’s Day Hangover Cure Brunch, where patrons can “retox” with specialty cocktails. Tuck into decadent brunch dishes like the blackened filet Benedict, or get lucky in 2021 with a black-eyed peas and greens special. Brunch will run from 11 am to 3 pm. Reservations are recommended.
The Bearded Lady
Blackened shrimp and white cheddar grits will be a new special on the South Main Street pub’s New Year’s Day brunch menu, along with black-eyed pea soup with cornbread and several brunch cocktails. Brunch starts at 11 am here.
Blue Mesa Southwest Grill
The restaurant will serve its popular brunch, featuring brisket, ham, salmon, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros, omelets, enchiladas, tacos and more. The $28 per-person price includes bubbly and mimosas, and kids 6 to 11 years old can eat for $7. Reservations are recommended. Or place an order for brunch to-go, available only on December 31 and January 1. The $120 price serves six and includes migas, breakfast potatoes, an array of tacos, sides, French toast bread pudding, and mimosas.
Eat Fajitas
The fajita delivery service from the folks at Righteous Foods is offering a New Year’s Day brunch box worth every single carb. The $95 box include one dozen butternut squash tamales, six fresh apple empanadas, chips, queso, salsa, and four sparkling mimosas. Order by December 30.
Funky Picnic Brewery & Café
The Near Southside restaurant will debut its new brunch menu with the start of the New Year. Visit starting at 11 am for steak and eggs, huevos rancheros, and brew-infused brunch drinks like beermosas and micheladas. Brunch will run until 4 pm.
Game Theory Restaurant + Bar
The South Main Street adult arcade and game lounge will start brunching at 11 am with stick-to-your-ribs dishes like chicken and waffles, breakfast potato hash with ham, and chilaquiles. Enjoy $10 mimosa or sangria carafes along with $5 micheladas and bloody Marys. Brunch will be served until 3 pm.
Mi Dia From Scratch
The popular Grapevine dining destination will offer weekday brunch in honor of New Year’s Day, both in the restaurant and to-go. From 11 am to 3 pm, guests can dine-in for chicken and waffles, blue corn huevos rancheros with New Mexican chile sauces, and Hatch Me If You Can! Bloody Marias with Ambhar Plata tequila and garnished with bacon and a jumbo shrimp. All menu items will be available for curbside pickup.
Mutts Canine Cantina
Why should humans hog all of the New Year’s Day brunch fun? Dogs can start 2021 with a festive frolic at the Clearfork dog park while owners partake in Mutts’ breakfast and cocktail combo specials from 12-3 pm. There’ll be mimosas, bloody Marys, and Hair of the Dog drink specials, plus all day “Yappy Hour.”
Snooze, An A.M. Eatery
In addition to regular menu, look for seasonal dishes like Peppermint Bark Pancakes topped with spiced cocoa sauce and peppermint bark, Jalapeno & Pomegranate Glazed Bacon, and the Holiday Harvest Bowl with butternut squash, sweet potato, onions, poblano peppers, corn, pork belly lardons, and poached egg. Snooze will also offer Holiday Kits with hot cocoa recipes, greeting cards, and choice of Holiday Harvest Egg Casserole, Cranberry French Toast Bake, or Holiday Pancake Party Kit, along with a jazz playlist. Kits come with spinach-arugula-kale salad, fruit salad, and bacon. Order 24 hours in advance, available through January 2.
Tributary Cafe
New Year's Day specials to-go include black-eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread for 4 ($25); 8-piece fried chicken and dessert ($25); and homemade bloody Marys, mimosas, or a bottle of bubbly ($20). Call or text ahead to 817-938-4200 and order by 3 pm December 29.
