Acclaimed chef to debut grilled cheese concept at Tulips Fort Worth

A Fort Worth foodie favorite has surfaced at a Near Southside bar: Abe Fromage, the buzzy food truck dedicated to all things cheese, will begin serving grilled cheese sandwiches and more at Tulips/Low Doubt Bar, starting in mid-March.
Abe Fromage is the concept from chef Scotty Scott, who began his career posting recipes on his website Cook Drank Eat, then rolling out a series of pop-ups that built a local following.
In 2022, he came out with a cookbook called Fix Me a Plate: Traditional and New School Soul Food Recipes from Scotty Scott of Cook Drank Eat, which has earned widespread raves.
Following the success of his cookbook, he launched Abe Fromage, turning his pop-up dishes into a permanent fixture in the community. Abe Fromage has been featured twice on the Today Show, in Texas Monthly, and in numerous other publications.
Gourmet grilled cheese is at the heart of it all but burgers, Sunday dinners, and soul food are all on the menu.
Now, according to a release, the much-loved concept is setting up shop at Tulips/Low Doubt Bar, bringing its signature cheesy, flavor-packed dishes to one of Fort Worth’s top live music and nightlife spots.
Tulips already has a foodie reputation, hosting an in-house coffee bar where it's serving coffee and caffeinated drinks — one that earned a nomination for Best Coffee House in CultureMap's 2025 Tastemaker Awards.
The menu for Abe Fromage includes sandwiches, sides, and desserts, such as:
- The Abe burger, two smash patties griddled and topped with caramelized onions, havarti cheese, and "one of a kind" Fromage Sauce. Served with shoe string fries.
- Goud Butt, a grilled cheese sandwich with Gouda, truffle butter, honey crisp apples, and mint
- Cheesy Joe, a grilled cheese sandwich with fatty wagyu beef
- Bammy Bird, featuring Smoke-a-holic's pecan-smoked chicken, provolone, whipped avocado, and Alabama white barbecue sauce
There's also a pickled shrimp po'boy, a duck bacon BLT, and a fried chicken bao sandwich. Prices range from $10-$13, with the shrimp po'boy topping out at $17. Sides include roasted potatoes and a chopped wedge salad.
Abe Fromage will launch during ’Southside Spillover’ on March 15-16 at Tulips. Hours will be dailyfrom 4 pm-2 am.
