Lebowski Fest at Martin House Brewing Company
Calling all “Dudes.” There's a post-Christmas party happening this week themed after the cult classic, The Big Lebowski, complete with White Russian beer and a costume contest. Also on tap, a Christmas cocktail class, tamale-eating contest, and an ugly sweater happy hour. Brush up on bubbly by the week's end in time for New Year's Eve next week. Head to the Miracle holiday pop-up bar inside the Miller Tavern at Texas Live! for this hands-on mixology class featuring Deep Eddy Vodka. The $41 ticket price includes everything needed to prepare three cocktails, plus some holiday swag. Class begins at 7 pm.

Tamale Eating Challenge at El Chingon
Part Mexican restaurant, part high-energy nightclub, El Chingon will host a tamale-eating competition where teams of two will see who can consume 10 tamales the fastest. Prizes will go to the top three teams. Plan to eat late for this one; check-in begins at 8:30 pm with the challenge to start at 9 pm. Entry is free.

Ugly Sweater Happy Hour at Toro Toro
Kickstart Christmas Eve at this downtown hotel restaurant and bar with a festive happy hour, which features half-off wines by the glass, $4 draft beer, and $6 well drinks. Wear your best ugly Christmas sweater and receive 10 percent off all drinks, including Toro Toro's "Cozy Cocktails" like Hot Buttered Rum, Spiked Apple Cider, and Irish Coffee ($12 each). Themed after the cult favorite movie, The Big Lebowski, this day drinking party will feature Martin House’s Calmer Than You Are 12 percent White Russian beer in tap and in cans, as well as a visit from Texas Ferret Lovers Rescue, food vendors, live music, and a “Dude” costume contest. Wristbands good for four pours and a souvenir pint glass are $20 or bring a rug and a get a wristband for free. Families welcome.
