Southern fried chicken cult fave Bojangles to make Fort Worth debut

A Southern fried chicken chain is coming to Fort Worth: Bojangles, a North Carolina-based concept famous for its chicken tenders and biscuits, is opening at 12801 South Fwy., in a new, free standing building at the SE corner of the service road and McAllister, right off I-35W just above Burleson. According to a spokesperson, the restaurant will open on August 19.
This will be the first Bojangles in Fort Worth.
Bojangles was founded in 1977 and enjoys a strong following across the Southeast. It is known for its made-from-scratch biscuits, crunchy fried chicken, and Southern sides such as dirty rice, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and Cajun pinto beans, as well as its so-called "Legendary Iced Tea" (aka sweet tea).
The menu features chicken sandwiches, including the signature Bo's Chicken Sandwich, a chicken breast with a crunchy buttermilk coating, topped with dill pickle slices and mayo, served on a toasted, buttered bun; and chicken biscuit sandwiches, including the Cajun Chicken sandwich, served on a biscuit.
There are also breakfast biscuit sandwiches such as Bo’s Chicken Biscuit Combo which, as with all of the breakfast menu, is available until 2 pm. Breakfast sandwiches feature eggs, sausage, bacon, and ham on a biscuit, served in combos with "Bo-Tatos" — like a hash browns Tater Tot.
Part of their expansion to new markets entailed a simplification of the menu, with a focus on tenders and chicken sandwiches only, and none of the bone-in options such as drumsticks and thighs sold at their original locations.
You can get 4 tenders with the usual array of sauces for $6 to $7, or in a sandwich with a pickle on a shiny toasted bun for about $5. The company claims its honey mustard sauce has a cult following, with people from around the country purportedly calling restaurants and begging them to mail out honey mustard packets.
Bojangles made their DFW debut in 2023. There are now locations in Euless, Lancaster, and Wylie, plus Little Elm and Frisco.
