This peak-of-summer roundup of dining news around Fort Worth has fun openings, re-openings, and relocations, as well as a slew of new menus, dishes, and special offerings for the season.
Here's what's happening in Fort Worth restaurant news right now:
Itadaki Ramen, a Japanese ramen restaurant, is opening a yakitori and izakaya-style eatery in Mansfield at 2301 E. Broad St. #221. This is a second location for restaurateur Kevin Chau who opened the first during the pandemic in Arlington in 2020. They serve Hokkaido-style ramen with miso-infused pork bone broth, plus yakitori meat skewers and bento boxes.
KPOT Korean BBQ and Hotpot is coming soon to north Fort Worth at 2828 N. Tarrant Pkwy. This is a second location for KPOT, which opened in Arlington in the old Spaghetti Warehouse by the Parks Mall in May. They offer all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner, meats diners grill at their tables, and hot broths for noodles.
Our Taphouse, the beer-centric restaurant and bar that replaced the old Pouring Glory spot on 1001 Bryan Ave., celebrated its grand opening in mid-June. It comes from first-time restaurant owners Maria Castillo and Kevin Hudson. The menu has gastropub fare, with dishes such as burgers and fries, tacos, wings, quesadillas, chicken tenders, and salads, plus 20+ beers on tap.
Chadra Mezza and Grill the family-owned Mediterranean that first opened in 2002 has moved to a new location at 1700 South Fwy., in a former daycare center. The new space serves a one-stop for all Chadra concepts including their catering company, a smaller dine-in version of Chadra Mezza & Grill with four tables, and Mezza South, an on-site event venue with seating for up to 120 guests, a private dining room for up to 20, and outdoor patio.
Jesus Restaurant, a family-owned Tex-Mex restaurant, is reopening in July. It closed temporarily from May-June due to owner and chef Maria Martinez's health issues. They're known for chicken fried steak, cheese enchiladas, and house-made fried fruit pies.
The Blue Room, the restaurant at The Crescent Hotel Fort Worth, has a new six-course tasting menu for $125. The menu includes venison carpaccio al pastor, grouper, duck with mole, and grilled corn flan. Wine is extra. The menu is served exclusively on Friday and Saturday 6-8:30 pm.
Zoli's Pizza, the New York-style pizza restaurant on Hulen Street, has revived its weekend brunch. Dishes include a breakfast sandwich; bacon, egg, and cheese pizza; and a chicken & waffle sandwich. Hours are Saturday-Sunday from 11 am-3 pm.
Smoothie King has expanded its menu of Power Eats, which first launched in January, exclusively to 100 locations in Dallas-Fort Worth. The menu features egg clouds, habenero chicken skewers, 8-grain avocado toast, and an eggs & cheese protein box.
Mi Cocina has five new menu items including the Rico wrap (available only during weekday lunch), chipotle lime shrimp tacos, spinach shrimp salad, TX redfish ceviche, and Redfish a la Plancha. Available at Fort Worth locations in Alliance, Chapel Hill, Sundance Square, and Southlake.
La Madeleine has a new summer menu with three salads: summer chicken, watermelon cucumber, and corn salad; a BLT on brioche for $10; and beverages such as strawberry hibiscus, mango dragon fruit, cucumber melon, pineapple strawberry.
Cicis Pizza has brought back its "original chocolate dessert," after decades of demand, available on buffets nationwide for $8 through August 17. It's an ooey-gooey dessert made from deep-dish dough with creamy chocolate, sliced into thick, rectangular strips.
The Sicilian Baker, the in-house dessert bar at The Sicilian Butcher, the Italian restaurant in Alliance, is hosting an unusual dessert happy hour featuring $2 gelato and $1 mini traditional cannoli, available Monday-Thursday from 1-5 pm through July 31.
Secret Sauce, a virtual kitchen operating out of City Works Eatery & Pour House at the Shops at Clearfork since 2021, has a special menu offering for July 4th with baby back ribs, wings, and pulled pork. Meats start at $16.
WOB Bar and Kitchen, the craft beer pub chain, has new menu items including tropical stack burger, sweet chili wing sauce, and watermelon transfusion – a blend of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, watermelon syrup, and Owen’s Transfusion Mix that’s available starting July 9. There’s also burger Monday where burgers are $5 every Monday through August 31.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse has a new summer menu that includes the Graham Cracker S’mores Pizookie and BJ’s Co-Hoperate Hazy Pils - a crisp-meets-hazy collab with Germany’s König Brewery. They’re also adding permanent menu items including BJ’s Sweet Sin Chocolate Porter brewed with Ghirardelli chocolate, BJ’s Hard Root Beer, and a Smash Burger with two patties.
Mountain Mike's Pizza has a new summer menu with Zesty Aloha Pizza with mango, ham, chicken, bacon, red onion, and tomato; and Zesty Aloha Wings with Polynesian sweet chili peppers with garlic.
El Pollo Loco has partnered with NBA player Dalton Knecht to launch two new quesadillas: creamy chipotle quesadilla with citrus-marinated chicken and chipotle sauce in a flour tortilla; and salsa verde quesadilla with avocado salsa.
SusieCakes has new desserts: berry sponge cake with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries; and Key Lime pie, available as 9-inch pie or by the slice available through Labor Day. Strawberry lemonade cupcake is available through July 27. Available at the Westbend location.
Kate Weiser Chocolate has new bonbon flavors for summer: raspberry lemonade, Cracker Jack, PB & J (peanut butter and strawberry pâte de fruit), and yuzu raspberry. They can be ordered in party trays with 48 bonbons, for $100. Available at the Clearfork location.
Potbelly has a limited-time root beer float shake with vanilla ice cream and a shortbread cookie on the straw for $5. There are six locations in Fort Worth.
Shake Shack has debuted a Dubai chocolate pistachio shake, inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate bar, which they introduced in three cities at the beginning of 2025 and have now made it available chain-wide. It feaatures pistachio frozen custard and toasted kataifi shredded phyllo, coated in a crackable dark chocolate shell, topped with chopped pistachios and crunchy kataifi, for $9.49.
Black Rock Coffee Bar has three limited-time drinks. Rocky Road Chiller, with chocolate, almond, hazelnut, and cold foam; French Roast Breve, an espresso-based drink with brown sugar cinnamon, white chocolate, and cold foam; and Tangerine & Passion Fuel Energy. Available through August 30.
Charleys Cheesesteaks, the fast-casual cheesesteak restaurant chain, has a new Nashville Hot sauce, which can be added to their chicken cheesesteak or served with their boneless wings. The chain has 11 standalone and Walmart locations in Fort Worth, Arlington, Saginaw, North Richland Hills, Mansfield, and Hurst.
