Monday, May 6
National Teacher Appreciation Week at Whataburger
Whataburger will
honor the hard work of all school employees with free breakfast this week. Teachers and staff can show their school ID May 6-10 and score a free Taquito, Breakfast on a Bun, or Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, and a WhataTeacher lanyard. The deal is available via dine-in or drive-through from 5–9 am at all locations. McDonald's of North Texas has also joined in, offering free breakfast combos to all teachers and school administrators from May 6-10 from 7-10:30 am.
Tuesday, May 7
Meet Our Meat at B&B Butchers & Restaurant
It’s the last opportunity until September to taste and compare 12 courses of dry-aged cellar during “Meet Our Meat” at the Clearfork steakhouse. End with the "holy grail" of A-5 certified Kobe beef. The $375 price (plus tax and gratuity) includes fine wine pairings, sides, and dessert. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm.
Wednesday, May 8
7-Course Mexican Wine Dinner at Don Artemio
There’ll be 15 wineries from five regions of Mexico featured during this seven-course pairing dinner, a collab between Don Artemio of former Fort Worth chef Regino Rojas of Revolver Taco Lounge (now located in Dallas). Tickets are $150 plus tax and gratuity. Arrive by 6 pm for a wine reception followed by dinner at 7 pm.
Thursday, May 9
Afternoon Tea at La Loteria
Tea service is back just in time for Mother’s Day weekend at Tim Love’s private club in the Stockyards, located above Paloma Suerte. Reservations start at $70 (additional cost for bubbly) and may be made for May 9, 10, or 12 with traditional tea service, including sandwiches, scones, and clotted cream, from 2:30–4:30 pm.
Great Taste of Grapevine
The 28th annual tasting event will take place at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad Train Depot and feature bites and sips from area restaurants and wineries. Proceeds benefit the Grapevine Chamber Women’s Division school supply program and Christmas gift program for local seniors. More than a dozen participating restaurants include Mi Dia From Scratch, Jane, and Esparza’s. Tickets are $40 and include all food samples and one glass of wine. (Note that VIP tickets are sold out.) The event will run from 5-8 pm.
Friday, May 10
Walkaround Summer Wine Tasting at Roy Pope Grocery
West Fort Worth neighborhood grocery store will host its first patio wine tasting event. Sample new wines from around the world while mingling with fellow enthusiasts. Tickets are $25 and the tasting will run from 6–8 pm.
Italian BBQ Dinner at Hot Box Biscuit Club
It’s another installment of the “Cooking with My Friends” dinner series at the South Main Street brunch spot, this one featuring Brix Barbecue owner and pitmaster Trevor Sales. Italian-inspired dishes will include porchetta with cherry caramel, house-made pasta with chimichurri, and tiramisu made with local Sons of Liberty espresso. Wine pairings by the Wine Wrangler JR Clark will accompany each course. The dinner is $85 plus gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm.
