Michelada Fest spices up top Fort Worth food and drink events this week

Michelada Festival Fort Worth arrives this week.
Michelada vendors will line the streets of downtown Fort Worth later this week for a festival of street food, live music, and Latin spice. But first, make reservations for a four-course whiskey pairing dinner from a top chef for a great price, then plan for one of several artisan markets happening over the weekend.
Wednesday, October 7
Maker’s Mark Whiskey Dinner at Rex’s Bar & Grill
Rex Benson’s namesake bar and restaurant has a private dining room called the H77 Lounge, and it’s where this four-course whiskey pairing dinner by chef Brian Olenjack will take place featuring Maker’s Mark whiskeys. After dinner, guests can take home a signature hand-dipped glass. The dinner is $50 and begins at 6 pm.
Thursday, October 8
Momofuku Goods “Drizzle-and-Drip” Food Truck Pop-Up
Momofuku Goods, the popular line of pantry staples developed by chef David Chang and the Momofuku Culinary Lab, is taking its new sauce collection on the road with the multi-city food truck tour in partnership with prebiotic soda brand OLIPOP. Fans can get a first taste of OLIPOP’s Caramel Apple soda, sample dishes at the drizzle bar, and grab exclusive giveaways. The truck will be at TCU on Thursday, October 8 and at UTA on Friday, October 9, both from 11 am-5 pm.
Saturday, October 10
Artisan Circle Street Market
It’s the final street market of the season for Artisan Circle, this one featuring pop-ups by Insomnia Cookies, Hiatus Spa, Movie Tavern, and around two dozen local artisan vendors along with food and drink purveyors. The event takes place from 11 am-4 pm and entry is free.
Pink Fiesta: A Celebration of Culture & Compassion
Taking place at the Tanger Outlets in far north Fort Worth is this Hispanic Heritage festival featuring food, music, dancing, kids’ activities, and more. A $10 donation supports the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and includes three tacos (beef, chicken, or pork); two churros; and one agua fresca, plus a “pink pass” good for 25 percent off at participating Tanger restaurants through October 31. The event will take place near the Polo Ralph Lauren store and will run from 12-3 pm.
Sunday, October 11
Fort Worth Community Market
One of Fort Worth’s largest artisan markets takes place monthly at the South Main Micro Park, where more than 75 vendors sell homegrown and handmade goods, from cheeses, honey, nut spreads, and canned goods to spices, coffee, fresh juice, and global foods. The family-friendly, pet-friendly event also features live music, an outdoor bar, face-painting and kids’ activities. The event runs from 10 am-3 pm and admission is free.
Michelada Festival Fort Worth
The annual outdoor event celebrating Hispanic culture and community takes place in downtown Fort Worth on Main Street, from the Convention Center to Sundance Square. Vendors will line the streets to sell savory Latin bites like tacos, carne asada, elotes, alongiside aguas frescas and micheladas – akin to a Bloody Mary, and made with light beer, fresh lime juice, salt, and a mix of hot sauces and spices. Fort Worth celeb chefs will judge whose is best. The event runs from 12-8 pm and admission is free.
Monday, October 12
Black Lagoon at Nickel City
The annual spine-chilling Halloween pop-up bar is back at Nickel City on South Main Street, one of 34 bars across the country (and the only in DFW) hosting the creepy cocktail experience. Created by renowned bartenders Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage in 2019 in New Orleans, Black Lagoon features an all-new menu this year. Try their take on the classic pina colada, called Abyssa’s Obsession, made with Pumpkin Kraken gold and black rums, coconut syrup, pineapple juice, tobacco bitters, and saline. The pop-up will run through October 31.
