Free Hot Dogs at Curly’s Frozen Custard
Before the pandemic, Curly’s Frozen Custard hosted a popular hot dog-eating contest every July 4 in conjunction with the world-famous Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog competition on Coney Island. The competition was replaced with a free hot dog giveaway in 2020 and the new tradition has remained. This year, the first 210 customers can again receive a free Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog with no purchase necessary starting at 11 am. Also don’t miss the new custard flavor of the month, the fan-favorite Parker County Peach.

The dogs will be served bacon-wrapped and topped with chiles toreados, onions, and a drizzle of mayo and ketchup. The competition will begin at 8 pm. Sign up to compete here. Patrons can also enjoy Independence Day specials, including five-taco flights for $9.42, a flight of three margaritas for $13, select draft beers for $3, house margs for $5, and half-off select a la carte tacos.
