Great Greek Mediterranean Grill serves skewers to southwest Fort Worth

Great Greek Mediterranean Grill
The gyros have arrived at the Shops at Chisholm Trail: The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, a Nevada-based chain specializing in skewers, hummus, and more, has opened a location in a new development at 9654 Red Dirt Rd.
Founded in Henderson, Nevada in 2011, the Great Greek is a fast-casual concept featuring authentic Greek recipes. Entrees include souvlaki, aka skewers, of lamb, chicken, steak, and shrimp over rice. You can get shaved gyro meat with choice of rice pilaf, fries, or "feta fries," which are exactly as they sound: fries topped with feta cheese.
Two vegetarian entrees include a falafel plate and a mezze platter with grape leaves, falafel, hummus, and spanikopita.
Fan-favorites include The Great Greek Gyro, as well as lamb, steak and chicken Souvlaki plates, all prepared fresh in-house. Many selections can be customized, such as the Classic Greek Salad or Rice Bowl with a choice of gyro meat, salmon and more.
Sides include feta fries and four signature dips: Hummus, Tzatziki, Melitzanosalata (eggplant dip), and Tirokafteri (spicy roasted red pepper). Desserts prepared on site include Baklava, Baklava Ice Cream, and Rice Pudding.
This location is owned by a local family of military veterans: Cliff Bowling and his two sons, Daniel and Patrick Bowling, who also opened the restaurant’s first Fort Worth location in the Crestwood-area last year.
“As a family, we really enjoy interacting with the community and bringing people together over a delicious meal,” says Cliff Bowling in a statement. “We’re excited to expand The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill footprint throughout Fort Worth so we can introduce healthier options to locals and change the way guests see fast-casual dining."
Before running a restaurant, Cliff Bowling served over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. His sons followed suit; Patrick Bowling served eight years in the U.S. Air Force and Daniel Bowling served 10 years in the U.S. Navy. After supporting their country, the veterans decided to provide for their hungry community, branching into the culinary space in 2012 with the opening of their first two restaurants. “Collectively, we have over 30 years of experience working in the food industry, and we’re proud to use our expertise to give Fort Worth residents an easier way to make healthier dining choices on the go.” Patrick says.
