Gorgeous new Mexican restaurant brings patio pushcarts to Fort Worth
A nicely-outfitted new Mexican restaurant is coming to the Cultural District of Fort Worth: Called La Cabrona, it'll be located at 2973 Crockett St., in the former Tillman's space, and will open in mid-September, according to a release.
La Cabrona is a family-owned and -operated Mexican-inspired restaurant celebrating the colors and flavors of Mexican culture, and will open in Artisan Circle, the entertainment district formerly known as Crockett Row.
"We are thrilled to launch La Cabrona in Artisan Circle and introduce our authentic Mexican experience to the community," says La Cabrona owner Adam Shanaa in a statement. "Our goal is to create a space that serves exceptional food while reflecting the beauty and vibrancy of Mexican culture. We can't wait to share this experience with our diners and their families."
The restaurant's menu of authentic cuisine is by Chef Rosario Ortega, who is from Monterrey, Mexico, with recipes that have been passed down through generations.
The menu includes carne asada, chicken with mole sauce, camarones a la diabla (spicy shrimp), chile relleno, and snapper. There are a half-dozen tacos including trendy quesobirria, plus appetizers like ceviche, shrimp cocktail, and queso blanco. There's also a Cobb salad and chicken tortilla soup.
Prices start at $10 for the queso and top out at $32 for the carne asada. But they'll offer daily happy hour specials, Taco Tuesdays, and all-you-can-eat brunch.
Decor features hand-painted murals as well as an outdoor patio with a water fountain feature made from authentic Mexican Saltillo tile.
During weekend brunches, La Cabrona will offer a unique experience with food carts that enhance the lively atmosphere. That includes freshly grilled elote served with an array of toppings from the elote cart or else house-made paletas.
Kathy Permenter, co-managing partner of Younger Partners, which owns Artisan Circle says in a statement that they're thrilled to welcome La Cabrona to Artisan Circle.
"It's our mission to bring unique experiences to Fort Worth residents and visitors, and La Cabrona's flavorful Mexican cuisine and vibrant atmosphere perfectly fit our vision," Permenter says.
