North Richland Hills bakery of Food Network fame to close storefront

Sinsational Cakes
An award-winning TV-famous bakery in Fort Worth is poised to close: Sinsational Cakes, known for its custom cakes, cupcakes, and other sweet treats, will shutter its storefront at 5750 Davis Blvd. in North Richland Hills on June 28.
According to a post, they're closing due to "unexpected circumstances" and rising costs from inflation. They'll still be baking right up until they close — and they may continue baking, depending on how things shake out.
Founded by sisters Anyatta Nicole Ward-Williams and Sonjii Ward-Jones, Sinsational Cakes has earned acclaim for its cakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and specials like peach cobbler. They've been featured on the Food Network five times on shows such as Cupcake Wars, and won two competitions. Nicole also earned a nomination for a CultureMap Tastemaker Award for Best Pastry Chef in 2025.
Nicole graduated in 2002 from The Art Institute of Dallas’ Culinary Arts Program, then began to baking out of her home before working as a pastry chef at the Hyatt as well as for Legends Hospitality at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

They opened the storefront in 2011 where they not only sell baked treats, but also teach classes such as cupcake decorating for kids.
One factor in their closure is that they have a new landlord who is trying to lock in leases but the sisters are not interested in signing a longterm lease on a center that does not currently have many tenants.
The sisters say they'd be open to selling the business to someone ready "to keep the sweet magic going." If they don't find a partner, they'll close on June 28, and host a sale of their bakery equipment on June 29, then return to their previous model of baking out of their home.
Customers can still order and pick up cakes, cupcakes, and other treats, by calling 817-788-1800 or by emailing Sinsational.cakes@yahoo.com.
"We have met so many that came through that door and we appreciate your loyalty," the duo says. "God Never closes one door, he will open another one. Love y'all."
