Original ChopShop restaurant will open at healthiest corner in Southlake
A healthy new restaurant is coming to a healthy corner of Southlake: Original ChopShop, the Arizona-based chain that specializes in salads and bowls, is opening a location at 2101 E. Southlake Blvd, #100, just west of Kimball Avenue.
That address has no shortage of healthy salads: It's next door to a Coolgreens, a Snappy Salads, and a Cava.
Original ChopShop made its DFW debut in 2018 with a first location in Las Colinas. This will be the 11th Texas location and according to a release will open in late spring.
It'll be open for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner with protein bowls, salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, juices, protein shakes, acai bowls, with their motto being that everything is always chopped-in-Shop. There's no chopping somewhere off-site, no late-night deliveries of pre-chopped items, the chopping happens there or it doesn't happen at all. If getting your produce whatever it may be chopped freshly is a personal priority, you've come to the right place.
The chain touts its diet-inclusive menu with something for everyone, from tofu to tofu and everything in between, and all items are fully customizable to meet any dietary need: gluten-, dairy-, and lactose- free, along with vegetarian and vegan options.
“We think our better-for-you, all day every day concept will resonate with the Southlake community and fill a niche that’s been missing in other dining options in the area,” says CEO Jason Morgan in a statement.
The concept was founded in Scottsdale in 2013 but relocated its headquarters to Plano in 2016. They were originally a sibling to the Bellagreen chain, but in July, Bellagreen was acquired by Ampex brands.
It currently operates 20 locations in Phoenix, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and Atlanta. There's a second location coming to Tarrant County in far north Fort Worth, at the NE corner of Heritage Trace Parkway and I-35.
The core item on their menu is protein bowls, with greens, grains, and a protein. The most popular is the teriyaki chicken bowl, which can be served with choice of forbidden rice, brown rice, or sweet potato hash.
