Season Update
Performing Arts Fort Worth cancels last 2 Broadway shows for 2021

Performing Arts Fort Worth, the presenters of Broadway at the Bass, has canceled the remaining two shows in the 2020-21 season.
Jesus Christ Superstar (most recently scheduled for July 27-August 1, 2021) and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! (August 10-15, 2021) will hopefully be booked into the upcoming 2021-22 season, which will be announced in early May.
COVID-19 is, of course, the reason for the cancellations.
"While we are saddened to announce the final two cancellations from what would have been our 2020-2021 Broadway at the Bass season, we look toward the future with hope and optimism," says Performing Arts Fort Worth president and CEO Dione Kennedy in a March 16 release.
"With positive news and daily progress on the vaccine front, our industry is hopeful that touring Broadway shows will be able to resume later this year."
Next season's lineup will feature many of the touring productions that were previously scheduled prior to COVID-19, as well as — how's this for a tease? — a newly added hit show direct from Broadway (which has been closed since March 2020).
The new season will also include the Fort Worth premiere engagement of Hamilton that was rescheduled to January 18-February 6, 2022.
Performing Arts Fort Worth is taking the opposite approach of Dallas Summer Musicals, with whom it often partners to present a few shows in both cities each season.
DSM announced in January that it's going ahead with a full slate of shows for 2021, beginning as early as this coming August with a return engagement of Wicked.
