Trinity Metro to give free rides across Tarrant County on 4th of July

The TRE will be F-R-E-E on July 4th.
Star-spangled news for anyone heading to a fireworks display or catching a flight on the 4th of July: Trinity Metro will provide free rides on all Tarrant County services on Independence Day - Saturday, July 4, 2026.
"As the United States marks a historic milestone, 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Trinity Metro is joining the celebration in a big way," says a release. "Skip the parking hassle and ride free to holiday gatherings, festivals, and fireworks displays across Tarrant County."
The deal includes passenger trips on Trinity Metro buses, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) commuter rail line to CentrePort, Trinity Metro TEXRail to DFW Airport, Trinity Metro On-Demand rideshare services, Trinity Metro Bikes, and vanpools.
Sorry, World Cup visitors, Cowtown Visitor Shuttles are not included.
And, a note to anyone traveling between Fort Worth and Dallas: This free ride offer is only valid within Tarrant County. Local TRE service will take you to CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. To continue on to Dallas County, you will need to purchase a separate ticket; check out the DART Local Day Pass.
Some services will operate on modified schedules that day.
"We encourage all customers to review the schedule details and plan ahead so you can focus on celebrating this landmark moment in history," says the agency.

Operating on Sunday Schedule: Trinity Metro Bus & On-Demand Paratransit
Bus route 46 will offer extended late-night service to accommodate guests enjoying the Fort Worth's Fourth fireworks at Panther Island. Riders can learn more about route 46 here.

Use a Trinity Metro bus to get around town. Trinity Metro buses serve major retail destinations including Hulen Mall, La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth and University Park Village, to name a few. Schedule info is here.
Trinity Metro Bikes
Explore the Trinity Trails or any scenic spot courtesy of Trinity Metro Bikes. With 400 bikes and 62 stations around Fort Worth, there are numerous potential destinations. The bike sharing program is great for exercise and/or an environmentally friendly way to travel. Note: Although each 30-minute ride is free for the week, bike usage requires activation of an account and a $50 security deposit held for up to 48 hours. Learn more about the bikes here.
Trinity Metro On-Demand
Trinity Metro offers ridesharing service in select communities within Tarrant County. Similar to Uber and Lyft, Trinity Metro On-Demand allows you to book a ride within a specific service boundary using your smartphone. This corner-to-corner travel is ideal for a quick lunch break so you don’t have to move your car or search for a parking spot when you are pressed for time.
