1. 8 new Fort Worth restaurants compete for coveted Tastemaker title. Probably the most popular part of CultureMap's Tastemaker Awards, our annual celebration of the best in Dallas-Fort Worth food and drink, is the category of Best New Restaurant. It's the only category decided by you, via a bracket-style competition where eight new restaurants go head to head. You can vote once a day for your favorite. To vote, click here. Don't delay: The first bracket ends on Saturday, August 7.

2. California's cult tacos dusted with Parmesan cheese land in Fort Worth. A cult-favorite taco chain from California is headed our way: Jimboy's Tacos, known for its unique crispy tacos dusted with Parmesan cheese, will make its Fort Worth debut with a location at 9316 Clifford St., at the corner of Jim Wright Freeway, in the fall.

3. Country supercouple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw to film buzzy TV series in Fort Worth. Saddle up for some low-key stalking. Country megastars Faith Hill and Tim Graw are coming to Fort Worth to shoot a prequel series to the TV hit Western drama Yellowstone. Hill and McGraw — along with Oscar-nominated actor Sam Elliott — have been cast in leading roles in the prequel, called 1883, Paramount+ revealed August 4.

4. First-ever Ramblin' Roads mega music festival takes over Arlington this fall. Live music will fill the airwaves of Arlington when the first-ever Ramblin' Roads Music Festival takes over the city the first weekend of October. The three-day palooza, October 1-3, will take place just about everywhere there's a stage in Arlington: Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Music Hall, Texas Live, and more than 15 more venues, big and small.

5. These are the 7 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week. August means Hatch chile season, and one gourmet grocery chain is celebrating the piquant pepper with a month-long festival. This week also brought the beginning of DFW Restaurant Week, where nearly two dozen Tarrant County eateries offer specials to benefit a good cause. Also on the schedule: a social run with post-race brews and brisket-smoking class led by one talented pitmaster.

A popular music venue in Fort Worth is making a comeback: The Post, the intimate listening room that has become a staple for music lovers, is opening for business at 2736 W. 6th St., in the address previously occupied by Lola's Saloon, the longtime music venue.

3. Keller's first chef-driven restaurant FNG Eats to close after 12 years. Keller's first chef-driven restaurant is closing: FnG Eats, an upscale restaurant that opened at 201 Town Center in 2012, will close after 12 years. They're planning on Saturday, January 18 as the last day.

4. Rodeo party tops 6 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week. The snow has melted and restaurants and bars are ready to welcome back patrons with food and wine. In addition to rodeo-related fun, this week includes a day dedicated to Dolly Parton and a winemaking event.

5. Fort Worth craft beer destination Pouring Glory closes after 9 years. A craft beer destination in Fort Worth's Near Southside has closed: Pouring Glory, a unique and well-regarded gastropub and growler station at 1001 Bryan Ave. has closed its doors after nine years.
