It's a pretty big and eclectic weekend in and around Fort Worth, featuring four concerts from artists of all different ages. There will also be a classic car showcase, an encore of one of 2022's best films, a home tour, a family-friendly symphony concert, a Japanese celebration of the full moon, a dance company homecoming, and more.

Friday, September 16
29th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals
The 29th Summit Racing Lone Star Nationals at Texas Motor Speedway will feature over 2,000 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, imports, and trucks through '97. There will also be NASCAR stock car rides, a Nitro Thunderfest dragster exhibition, a burn out competition, a Summit Super Shopping Experience, a swap meet & Cars 4 Sale Corral, and a kids zone with free arts and crafts, games, prizes, and more. The event takes place through Sunday.
Magnolia at the Modern: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On
If you missed your choice to see one of the best-reviewed movies of the year back in July, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is giving you a second chance. Marcel is an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie and their pet lint, Alan. When a documentary filmmaker discovers them among the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and a new hope at finding his long-lost family. The film will screen seven times through Sunday.
Brothers Osborne in concert
The list of country music duos is long and distinguished, whether it's official duos like Brooks & Dunn, Florida-Georgia Line, or The Judds, or collaborators like Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn & Conway Twitty, or George Jones & Tammy Wynette. Brothers Osborne have been making a name for themselves, releasing three albums since their debut in 2016. They're also notable for one of the brothers, T.J., being one of the few country musicians to come out as gay, which he did in 2021. They'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Wedgwood Historical Association presents Parade of Homes
Wedgwood Historical Association's annual Parade of Homes features now-historic homes where visitors can learn about some of Wedgwood’s earliest residents. Four homes will be featured during this year's event, all of different styles. Proceeds will go toward WHA’s work in education and preservation.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Family Series: "Dancing with the FWSO Stars!"
At this special Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra family concert, kids and family can explore all types of dance music from around the world. From traditional to folk, and from ballet to modern, attendees will hear how an orchestra shakes their bones as they travel through different cultures utilizing the rhythmic power of dance and music. The concert takes place at Bass Performance Hall.
Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth presents "Perspectives"
The Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth will open the 2022-2023 season with "Perspectives," featuring guest artists Díaz Trio with Angela Cheng on piano. Selections will include Schubert's B Flat Trio, Beethoven's Trio In G Major, Mozart's Sonata in G Major K. 301, and Mozart's Piano Quartet in E Flat Major. The concert, taking place at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, is preceded by a pre-concert conversation at 1:15 pm.
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Modern by Moonlight: Otsukimi Festival
Modern by Moonlight: Otsukimi Festival is an annual Japanese festival that honors the autumn moon and the season ahead, in recognition of the rich heritage of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s architect, Tadao Ando. In addition to the Modern’s special exhibition, "Women Painting Women," the event features live entertainment by the Dondoko Taiko Japanese Drumming Group, Boyblk, Rizkilla, and Cabus. Japanese-inspired food and beverages crafted by Café Modern are available throughout the evening.
Steve Miller Band in concert
The legendary Steve Miller Band, known for songs like "The Joker," "Livin' in the USA," "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love," and "Abracadabra," comes to Will Rogers Auditorium, for a retrospective of their long and distinguished career. Their most recent album was their 2021 concert album, Shady Grove Music Fair (Live '73).
Bruce Wood Dance presents "Homecoming"
Bruce Wood Dance will open their new season with a return to Fort Worth, aptly titled "Homecoming." The program will include Wood's audience favorites Red, which premiered in Fort Worth in 2001; Lovett!, which expresses Wood’s experiences working on ranches, raising horses, roping cattle, and rodeo riding; and excerpts from Joy Bollinger's acclaimed Slip Zone. The performance takes place at W.E. Scott Theatre.
Mike Ryan in concert
Country singer Mike Ryan, a native of San Antonio, may be on the verge of breaking out after a decade of trying to make it in the business. His fourth album, Longcut, is set for release on October 28, and in addition to this concert at Billy Bob's Texas, he'll serve as an opening act for Morgan Wallen at his mega-concert at Globe Life Field in Arlington on October 8.

Kimbell Art Museum presents "Murillo: From Heaven to Earth"
The special exhibition "Murillo: From Heaven to Earth" celebrates the genre paintings of one of the most celebrated painters of the Spanish Golden age: Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. While Murillo is primarily known for his religious subject matter, some of his most iconic works depict secular themes. Comprising approximately 50 works, the exhibition explores themes of youth and age, comedy, romance and seduction, faith and charity, landscape, portraiture, and modern realism. The exhibition will remain on display through January 29, 2023.
Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert
The Red Hot Chili Peppers rose to fame in the early 1990s, but unlike other acts, they haven't stayed tied to that decade. All of their albums have landed in the top 5 on the Billboard 200, with their latest — Unlimited Love, released in April — coming in at No. 1 in multiple countries. And they have another album, Return of the Dream Canteen, due next month. They'll play at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
