1. Miss Hooters pageant winner hits Fort Worth on meet-and-greet tour. A group of Hooters calendar girls — including the winner of the recent 2024 Miss Hooters International beauty pageant — are on tour, and that included a stop in Fort Worth. They're part of the 2025 Hooters Calendar Signing Tour, in which they're doing meet-and-greet events to raise money for breast cancer.
2. Fort Worth Stock Show ropes in buzzy comedian Jim Gaffigan for 2025. The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Auditorium Entertainment Series will return in 2025, with comedian Jim Gaffigan announced as the first entertainer, bringing his Everything is Wonderful! tour to Will Rogers Auditorium on January 31.
3. New IndyCar race comes to Arlington via Jerry Jones and Texas Rangers. The NTT IndyCar Series will return to Texas with the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington, a race planned for March 2026 that will take place near AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field.
4. New restaurant in Roanoke treats diners to tantalizing Dominican eats. A ghost kitchen serving vividly flavored Dominican food has settled into a permanent location in Roanoke: Called FrituWhaaa, it specializes in Cuban sandwiches and empanadas and is now open at 206 N. Oak St. in a food hall called The 206.
5. Visible meteor shower will appear in Fort Worth skies this week. A meteor shower was visible from most of North America, including Fort Worth, during the week of October 6-10. The Draconid meteor shower – also called the Giacobinids – was predicted to produce the most meteor activity on the night of October 7 and through the early hours of October 8.
