1. State Fair of Texas selects 4 far out winners for Big Tex food awards. The 2025 State Fair of Texas has revealed the winners for the 21st Annual Big Tex Choice Awards, the annual competition of new over-the-top foodstuffs from concessionaires.
2. Where to drink in Fort Worth right now: 5 hot new bars for August. In this month's Where to Drink column, we belly up to five new spots, from a chic River District cocktail lounge to an underground speakeasy with extra late night hours.
3. Fort Worth craft beer brewery expands with new refined coffee spinoff. The folks behind award-winning Fort Worth craft beer brand Maple Branch Craft Brewery have expanded into a new category of brewing: coffee.
4. Fort Worth comfort food restaurant Drew's Place wins $50,000 grant. A revered Fort Worth restaurant just received a prestigious nod (and a generous grant). Drew's Place Restaurant, a Southern/soul food spot, was one of 50 restaurants across the U.S. that scored a $50,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Backing Historic Small Restaurants program.

5. Frontier Airlines adds 2 new routes out of DFW Airport. Low-budget Frontier Airlines has added 20 new routes across the U.S. and Latin America, and that includes two new routes out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
