1. Where to eat in Fort Worth right now: 6 hottest new restaurants. Restaurants seemingly open and close in waves, and right now, they’re opening. Over the past few weeks, there’s been an influx of new restaurants in and around Fort Worth, from a cool new Italian spot to high-end Tex Mex to Texas’ favorite cuisine, barbecue. For this month’s Where to Eat, we take a look at six of the area’s latest restaurants.
2. Nostalgic new Fort Worth restaurant resurrects revered chef's recipes. A new taco joint on West Magnolia Avenue is resurrecting recipes from one of Fort Worth’s most storied chefs. Called Tres Amigos Tacos & Tequila, it's now open in the former Yucatan Taco Stand space at 909 W. Magnolia Ave., serving a menu inspired by the late Paul Willis, known for spearheading innovative concepts including Pedro’s Trailer Park, Cabo, and the original Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.
3. Andretti high-speed go-kart and game venue cruises into Fort Worth. An entertainment concept with go-kart racing is revving up Fort Worth:Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, an Orlando-based chain with go-karts, games, and more, has opened a location at the humorous address of 2701 Andretti Karting Dr., in north Fort Worth at the intersection of I-35W and 287. Opening day was Wednesday, September 25.
4. Dirty Dough known for thick decadent cookies to open in Southlake. Who doesn't love cookies, surely not Southlake, which will soon be home to its own location ofDirty Dough, a cookie chain based in Utah that's opening a new location at Wyndham Plaza shopping center at 2600 E. Southlake Blvd. #170, in what was previously a dental office. According to a company spokesperson, it'll open at the end of October.
5. Buffalo wings from original inventor in New York come to Arlington. A New York chain that invented the classic Buffalo wings has made its Dallas-Fort Worth debut: CalledAnchor Bar, it's part of a chain founded in Buffalo, NY, and has opened a location in Arlington, in a former Wings and Rings space at 2150 E. Lamar Blvd. #110, inside The Village at Ballpark shopping center.
