Robert Foley Wine Dinner at Ellerbe Fine Foods
The folks at Ellerbe Fine Foods will welcome noted winemaker “Bob” Foley back for his annual visit. The four-course menu will feature Foley’s Chardonnay, Charbono, Merlot, Claret, and Port paired with dishes like crispy calamari, winter squash carbonara, venison meatballs, and olive oil and cocoa cake. The dinner is $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm.
Reverse Drag Brunch at El Chingon
Mexican restaurant in the Cultural District introduces its first "Party with the Queens" reverse drag brunch with drag performances by local queens, brunch, and endless cocktails. It starts at 8:30 pm with bottomless mimosas and choice of brunch menu item such as chilaquiles, omelet, menudo, or breakfast burritos. Performances begin at 10 pm, hosted by local queen Raquel Blake, with Wintr Rose, Chanelle Diorr, and Bleach. Tickets start at $40 and are available at gbod.ticketsauce.com/e/party-with-the-queens.

Girl Scout Cookie Party at Turning Point Beer
The Bedford brewery will tap four Girl Scout Cookie-inspired beers to pair with cookies to be sold on-site by a local Girl Scout troop. Beer flavors will include the caramel-brownie flavored Scout Stout, the lemon-flavored Lemon Up, the shortbread-inspired Cookie Time IPA, and the I Want Samoa imperial sour with caramel, coconut, and cocoa notes. Saturday Brunch at The Ashton Depot with author “CC the Great”
Author Chakin “CC the Great” Watkins will talk about her Kindle book Girl, Hold Your Own Damn Purse! during this brunch buffet event. The $30 per-person price includes a menu of chicken and waffles, eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, pastries, fruit, and coffee. Brunch cocktails will be available for purchase. The buffet opens at 10:30 am with a book reading and Q&A to begin at 11 am.
National Hot Sauce Day at The Post at River East
Spice up your Saturday at this Race Street live music venue, bar, and restaurant. There’ll be free hot sauce samples from Fort Worth-based Freaky Ferments, along with free chips and salsa all day and a special spicy cocktail menu. Enjoy live music from the Squeezebox Bandits. The event will run from 2-6 pm.

Daou Wine Dinner at Cat City Grill
It’s the longtime Magnolia Avenue restaurant’s first wine dinner of the year. This one will feature five wines from Paso Robles’ Daou Vineyards paired with five courses. Dinner is $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and will begin at 6 pm.
Monday, January 24
La Playa Beer Dinner at Funky Picnic Brewery & Café
Chef Victor Villarreal of Tastemaker Award-winning La Onda will make a special appearance at the Near Southside brewery and restaurant for this five-course beer pairing dinner. Menu highlights include ceviche salad, corn bisque, cured salmon with charred grapefruit, Hawaiian fish with mole sauce, and mango ice cream with bowfin caviar. Dinner begins at 7 pm and is $90 per person, including beer pairings, tax, and gratuity.
