Ex-Dallas Cowboys player rushes chocolate chip cookies to Mansfield
An ex Dallas Cowboys player is doubling down on the cookies: Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Charlie Williams and his wife Sharonda Williams just opened a Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip in Mansfield, in a center at 1574 E. Broad St., called Shops at Broad Manor.
The new bakery café will feature a full menu, including freshly baked cookies, customized cookie cakes, and an assortment of confections. including brownies, muffins, and cupcakes.
There are also coffee drinks, as well as savory dishes including wraps, flatbreads, panini sandwiches, and crepes, both savory and sweet.
The Williams are old hands at this Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip thing. They previously opened their first franchise location at the University of Texas at Arlington in the stadium on November 5. And it won't stop here: They have plans to open five franchise locations total.
Sharonda is the driver on this endeavor, her husband says.
"After 25 years in the corporate world, my wife decided it was time to try something new," Charlie says in a release. "It wasn't long after Sharonda stopped in a Nestlé Toll House® Café by Chip location that we decided to franchise with the brand."
Hours are 8 am-10 pm Sunday-Thursday, and 8 am-11 pm Friday-Saturday. The café will also have a loyalty app and an online ordering option.
This location marks the 38th Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip in Texas. The versatile concept has kiosk, in-line mall, and street café locations. The first café opened in 2000.
