A Veritable Feast at Leaves Book and Tea Shop
An evening of dining and book discussion will cover the topic of poverty at the Near Southside tea shop and bookstore. Diners will enjoy a meal from Dusty Biscuit Beignets in a book club meeting format, but no pre-reading is required. Dinner is $40 per person and the event will run from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Honig Family Wine Dinner at Thirty-Eight & Vine
CultureMap Tastemaker Awards Chef of the Year Jenny Castor of Luckybee Kitchen will make an appearance at The Foundry District wine bar for a pop-up pairing dinner. The summery four-course menu will feature chilled blue crab soup, citrus pesto buns on toasted brioche, crispy pork belly, and blackberry moon pies. Dinner is $150 per person and includes wine pairings. Start time is 6:30 pm.

Peach Fest & The Peach Truck Pick Up at Jabo’s Ace Hardware
The famed traveling Peach Truck will make an appearance at Jabo’s Ace Hardware in Westcliff, and the store is hosting a festival to celebrate. Go for peach-themed cocktails, freeze-dried peach ice cream, and peach grilling demos while picking up Peach Truck orders. (Note that Peach Truck orders must be reserved in advance.) Even more, go dressed in peach-themed attire and be entered to win a $50 gift card to Jabo’s. The peach party will run from 2-5 pm.
Beer Dinner at Turning Point Beer
Chef Craig Lawson of Detour Catering will visit the Bedford brewery to prepare an elegant four-course menu to be paired with Turning Point craft brews. Menu highlights include jumbo lump crab croquettes, pan-fried red snapper, and classic tiramisu. The $80 per-person price includes beer pairings, as well as two additional drink tickets good for draft pours at the bar. Dinner begins at 6 pm and will be held in Turning Point’s new event space called The Relic.

La Onda Pop-Up at Grandma’s
The Race Street destination for coastal cuisine will make an appearance at Grandma’s bar in the Near Southside for a ceviche pop-up. Visit starting at 5:30 pm for a la carte dishes prepped fresh. Arrive early as La Onda will be on site until sell-out.
Make Your Own Wood-Fired Pizza at Pizza Verde
Learn how to wood-fire your own homemade pizza during this demonstration class at the popular Locke Avenue pizza parlor. The $60 per-person price includes bites and a glass of prosecco along with a bag of dough, a sauce recipe, and house-made mozzarella to test your newfound skills at home. Class will run from 5:30-7:30 pm. Additional wine and beer will be available for purchase.

Gare-Bear: A Tribute Beer Dinner at Funky Picnic Brewery & Café
The Near Southside restaurant and brewery is paying homage to a loyal customer who’s been to all 14 beer dinners they’ve hosted thus far. Beer dinner number 15 is dedicated to Gary Melton, a Funky Picnic regular whose favorite dishes — including tacos, pizza, Vietnamese, and Thai food — will all make an appearance on the beer pairing menu. Dinner is $50 per person, including tax and gratuity, and begins at 7 pm.
