There are fewer biscuits, ribs, and frozen margs around Fort Worth, as June has brought some sad news of local restaurant closures. On the upside, English soccer fans have scored a pub tailor-made for them, and award-winning bagels are on the way to the mid-cities.
Here's what's happening lately in Fort Worth restaurant news:
Fixe Southern House at The Shops at Clearfork closed permanently on Thursday, June 11, after eight years in Fort Worth. Owner Keith House announced the closure via a sign on the door and an emailed statement, but did not give a specific reason. Fixe built a fan following in Fort Worth for its buttery biscuits, Southern dishes, and happy hour. The flagship Fixe restaurant in Austin remains open.
The Londoner has opened its long-awaited Arlington location, at 1409 N. Collins St., in time for the England-vs.-Croatia World Cup match down the street at AT&T Stadium, on June 17. New owners have taken over the building for their own restaurant, they said. Hope is not lost for rib eaters, as Ribbee's owners are on the hunt for a new location.
