This Week in Gluttony
These are the 5 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

Flavors from South Africa, Asia, and England are on the menu this week as dining events take us around the globe. There’s also opportunity to have one of the Fort Worth’s best lunch burgers for dinner, and to sip rich reds paired with Southern bites. Reservations are required for some, so plan accordingly.
Tuesday, July 17
Duckhorn Wine Tasting at Fixe Southern House
Here’s a reason to cheat on taco Tuesday. The Southern comfort restaurant in The Shops at Clearfork will offer a wine flight from the iconic Napa wine company Duckhorn Vineyards, as well as bites from the bar menu. (Fingers crossed those buttery-rich biscuits are included.) The $25 price includes four wines and pairings. The tasting will run from 5-7 pm.
Thursday, July 19
Pop-Up Burger Night at Pearl Snap Kolaches
Kolache burgers are what’s for dinner when the west Fort Worth kolache shop opens up for later hours for one night only. Visit for the classic single or double patty burger with Colby cheddar cheese or the burger of the month, the “Inside the Prairie Pirate Burger,” with banana peppers, grilled onions, arugula, white sharp cheddar, and horseradish sauce. All come sandwiched between two fresh-baked and fluffy kolache buns. The pop-up event will run from 5-9:30 pm.
South African Wine Dinner at Cadillac Wines
Taste flavors from afar without leaving Fort Worth. Chef Carol Ann Kroehler will broaden palates with exotic dishes paired with wines from one of the southernmost regions in the world. Reservations are $65 per person, and dinner begins at 6 pm.
Saturday, July 21
Dumpling Pop-Up at The Collective Brewing Project
Chef Hao Tran of Lost in the Sauce and Dixya Bhattarai of Food, Pleasure & Health are back for another dose of delicious dumplings. The menu (while it lasts) will include chicken momo, shrimp shumai, a pho roll rice dumpling, and the hot chicken bao bun — what Tran calls “an Asian spin on the Chick-Fil-A sandwich” with sweet Sriracha and homemade pickles. Visit from 2-6 pm. (The earlier, the better.)
British Afternoon Tea at The Londoner
The recent Wimbledon tennis tournament has us longing for more tastes of London. Fortunately, the Londoner pub in Colleyville is launching its new monthly afternoon tea this week. Expect English teas, scones, and finger sandwiches served in true British fashion. The menu will be available from 11 am-3 pm, and reservations must be made in advance.
