Fort Worth’s most anticipated new barbecue restaurant announces opening date
If waiting in lines is your thing, and you already hit Halal Guys on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas for its opening day over the weekend, and now you feel the need to stand in line somewhere else but can't figure out where, then we have the place: Heim Barbecue, which just announced its long-awaited opening date.
Owners Travis and Emma Heim eschewed the usual route for breaking restaurant news, bypassing CultureMap in favor of a Facebook post, as follows:
"For those of you who have stared longingly through our windows the last few weeks/months we have some good news... our official grand opening will be Saturday, August 6th at 11 am!!!!
Say a prayer, think a good thought, send positive vibes our way, because ready or not we're scrambling to have hot BBQ ready for your face 8/6/16!
Delicious BBQ while it lasts, craft beer, cocktails, and fine whiskey all day every day (except Tuesdays). We cannot wait to have everybody over to our new place! Hope to see you soon!!!!"
They signed it, "Travis & Emma."
Since it debuted in February 2015, Heim's model up to this point has been marked by limitations. They were only open on certain days and their location in a trailer, parked at the Republic Street Bar on the corner of East Hattie Street, didn't allow room for growth.
Their new location is at 1109 W. Magnolia Ave. in Fort Worth’s Near Southside, in the space once occupied by the excellent Mijo's Fusion. They'll be open six days a week, Wednesday through Monday, 11 am to 10 pm, closed on Tuesdays.
Their menu will include smoked meat, bacon burnt ends, burgers, craft beer, and bourbon.
The restaurant will offer barbecue "as long as it lasts." At dinner, there'll also be offer a bar food menu with burgers and wings.
