Stoner sandwich chain Cheba Hut to open location in Mansfield

A buzzy sandwich shop with a stoner-theme is coming to Mansfield: Cheba Hut, the Colorado-based sandwich chain, is opening a location in a new shopping center at 2301 E. Broad St., Bldg. 100 #141, near Matlock Road and across from Mansfield High School.
It’s also a short trip to a cucumber facility owned by Best Maid Pickles, the beloved local favorite that also inspired a custom mural at the new shop. Rendered by artist Joshua Finley, the mural channels the style of cartoonist R. Crumb while highlighting the community’s tangy legacy of pickles.
According to a release, the shop will open June 23.
The menu will feature the chain's highly-regarded "toasted" subs with 30 options including Jamaican Red (buffalo chicken, jalapeño, and hot sauce) and Magic Mushroom (teriyaki mushrooms, pineapple, pepper jack cheese, spring mix). Subs are $7 for a small or $15 for a large.
They also have Rice Krispy treats, loaded munchies, and alcoholic beverages including signature cocktails and local beer.
Cheba Hut was founded in 1998 and is dedicated to breaking the mold of mundane fast-casual concepts by becoming the first marijuana-themed sandwich "joint" — providing a memorable sandwich and munchie options in a chill, eclectic environment.
They've since expanded to over 50 locations, with Mansfield being the 15th location in Texas. Other DFW locations are in Arlington, Fort Worth, Denton, and Dallas.
The Mansfield location is from franchisee Eddie White, who also owns the Cheba Hut in downtown Arlington, which opened in 2024.
White previously worked in banking for 20 years before opening a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. What began as a side hustle has now turned into a career after his first Cheba Hut became a hit in Arlington.
“I chose Cheba Hut because it’s the best sandwich in the game, hands down,” says White in a statement. “But it’s more than that — the environment, the art, the culture. People want something familiar, but new and adventurous at the same time. Cheba Hut is one of the only places on the planet that can boast that description. What other restaurant gives you the chance to check out a finely painted mural over a cup of ice-cold Kool-Aid?”
