Crispy Cones to bring unique ice cream shop to North Richland Hills

Crispy Cones
There's a new ice cream cone coming to Dallas-Fort Worth which appeared on Shark Tank: Called Crispy Cones, it's an innovative concept that places as much attention on the cone as it does the ice cream, and will open its first DFW-area location in North Richland Hills, at 8633 Davis Blvd. 200.
According to Aman Tamana, the entrepreneur and franchisee who's bringing the concept to town, it'll open in May.
Crispy Cones was founded in 2018 by Jeremy Carlson, who encountered "chimney cake"-style cones during a mission trip to the Czech Republic. Enamored, he began selling them from a road-side tent in Utah, which led to brick-and-mortar ice cream shops called Crispy Cones.
Eager to form a nationwide brand, he and his wife Kaitlyn pitched their concept on the TV show Shark Tank, where they received a stake from investor Barbara Corcoran.
Crispy Cones are unlike any other ice cream cone on the market. The company rotisserie-grills a dough to create a cone that's soft and fluffy, similar to a croissant, versus the usual crisp cone you get at a typical ice cream stand.
The process involves wrapping the dough around a rod, then baking it over a heating element until it turns golden brown. It gets crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It's dusted with cinnamon and sugar, and then you can choose a "spread," which serves as a lining for the ice cream; options include Nutella, peanut butter, cookie butter, and strawberry jam.
In addition to their traditional cone flavor, they do a rotating seasonal such as raspberry.
The ice cream is soft-serve in choice of vanilla, chocolate, swirl, or seasonal flavor such as pistachio or cookie dough. You can get toppings like chopped up Heath bars, almonds, Oreo cookies, and the like; and sauce including Nutella, caramel, cookie butter, or raspberry.
You can also get cones and pints of ice cream to go, to make-your-own at home.
The company currently has nine stores open in the U.S. including Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Florida, and Tennessee, with another eight coming soon, including a second location in the DFW area in Southlake which Tamana plans to open in July.
