6 best non-Thanksgiving food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

Black Friday at Maple Branch Brewery means specials on pizza and beer.
While Thanksgiving takes centerstage this week (find our list of open restaurants here), other tasty events focus on stepping away from the holiday chaos. Swap the Black Friday shopping mayhem for a brewery visit, learn how to make worldly cocktails, or take your kid (or your Harry Potter-loving bestie) to a class on Hogwarts breakfast. Kick off the week with a potluck Friendsgiving gathering at a local pub.

3rd Annual Friendsgiving at The Rabbit Hole Pub

Black Friday: Malört Barrel-Aged Stout Drop at Martin House Brewing Company
Black Friday means stout drops at Martin House, and this year the brewery got their hands on Malört barrels from Chicago. (The Swedish-style liqueur is popular in the Windy City.) Two Malört barrel-aged stouts will be launched, including a 13 percent ABV imperial stout and a 10 percent ABV sour. The crew will also showcase other stouts from the cellar, with a Black Friday special of $18 for four pours. Open 12–10 pm.
Cocktails Around the World at The Cookery
Just in time for entertaining season, this cocktail class will cover five worldly libations great for any gathering. Learn how to shake up a Singapore Sling, Mai Tai, Pisco Sour, French 75, and the espresso-based Carajillo. Each drink will come with a gourmet bite for pairing, with highlights including caramelized onion and cheese empanadas with chimichurri and Meyer lemon goat cheese crostini with blackberry compote. Class is $125 and begins at 6:30 pm.
