Remus Babe Ruth Reserve Launch Party at Birdie's Social Club
Bourbon & Shine, the whiskey bar inside Birdie’s Social Club, will host an MLB All-Star Game watch party featuring the launch of Remus Babe Ruth Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey, named for the baseball legend. Get free samples, baseball engravings, photo ops, and giveaways. Entry is free and the party begins at 6 pm.
Watermelon Eating Contest at El Chingon
Participants will compete head-to-head at the West 7th district Tex-Mex bar and restaurant to be the first to finish a giant watermelon wedge without using their hands. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers. Check-in begins at 7:30 pm with the contest to start at 8 pm. Registration is free. Take advantage of $5 a la carte tacos while there.

Tequila Tasting at Ellerbe Fine Foods
As part of the farm-to-table restaurant’s 15th anniversary celebration, Ellerbe Fine Foods is hosting a series of monthly spirit tastings. The July edition covers tequila: Taste a variety of tequilas along with craft tequila cocktails while learning about Mexico’s most famous liquor. Tickets are $50 and the tasting begins at 6 pm.
The First Mohawk Chef at Acre Distilling Co.
Downtown distillery is kicking off a new dinner pairing series with the first featuring “The First Mohawk Chef,” Stefon Rishel (Wishbone & Flynt). The four-course dinner includes a grazing board, seared scallops, asparagus & Brussels sprout salad, pork loin, and strawberry, rosemary, and lemon pound cakes. Dinner comes with craft cocktails from Acre Distilling Co. Tickets are $95 plus tax, or VIP for $115 for a pre-dinner tour and tasting. Dinner begins at 7 pm with a reception at 6:30 pm, or the VIP tour and tasting at 6 pm.
Sotol Dinner at Don Artemio
Learn about the unique Mexican spirit sotol during this five-course pairing dinner from chef Rodrigo Cardenas at Don Artemio. Standout menu items include rabbit Wellington with foie gras, and Texas bass aguachile. Straight pours of sotol or sotol cocktails will come with each course. Dinner is $145 plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm.

Summer Wine Dinner at Restaurant 506
Elegant restaurant inside The Sanford House bed and breakfast in Arlington will host a six-course wine dinner featuring William Chris Vineyards. Menu highlights include langostino risotto-stuffed squash blossoms, smoked ancho chile rubbed quail with bacon polenta cake, and pork belly bao buns. A different wine will be paired with each course, from cinsault to sparking chenin blanc. Dinner is $175 and begins at 6:30 pm.

Taylor Swift Wine Night at Wine Haus
Attention Swifties: This neighborhood wine bar will pair wines with songs from Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department among others from her many albums. Swift-inspired attire is encouraged. The event will run from 7–10 pm.
