Authentic Irish pub named for Billy the Kid to open in Fort Worth

Henry McCarty's Irish Pub
There's an exciting and authentic new Irish pub coming to Fort Worth: Called Henry McCarty’s Irish Pub, it's from an acclaimed pub veteran and it's opening in the center of Artisan Circle, formerly known as Crockett Row, at 2869 Crockett St., in the space that was most recently Cork & Pig Tavern.
Henry McCarty's is from the Merrion Group, the hospitalty company led by Alan Kearney, whose portfolio of successful pubs includes Patrick Kennedy's Irish Pub in downtown Dallas, Playwright Irish Pub in Dallas Arts District, The Crafty Irishman Public House in downtown Dallas, and Cannon’s Corner Irish Pub in Oak Cliff.
According to Merrion Group VP of Operations Robin Vaughn, Henry's will open in early fall, providing an expansive space for dining and entertainment, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects Irish heritage and a strong sense of community.
Like many of their concepts, Henry McCarty's has a rich and historic backstory: It's brilliantly named after Henry McCarty (1859–1881), the son of Irish-Catholic immigrants who later became known as William H. Bonney, or “Billy the Kid.”
The pub honors the Irish-American immigrant story of resilience and legacy — celebrating not only a colorful piece of history but also the ties between Ireland and America — relevant to Kearney, who is a native of Dublin, Ireland (and has the pleasing accent to prove it).
Henry McCarty’s will offer a full-service Irish food and beverage program, making it the only Irish pub in Fort Worth serving food. That means:
- award-winning fish and chips
- corned beef and cabbage
- the classic full Irish breakfast
… along with a wide selection of Irish beers, whiskeys, and cocktails.
The pub will also feature live music and cultural programming, creating a gathering place for locals and visitors alike.
"We’re extremely excited about Henry McCarty’s opening at Artisan Circle," Vaughn says. "Younger Partners has created a thoughtful vision for this district that balances entertainment and community, and we’re proud to be part of that."
Vaughn also happens to be a "local."
"Having lived in the Fort Worth area for many years, I know firsthand how much this addition will mean to the community," Vaughn says. "With this new, much larger space, we can deliver a true Irish pub experience – traditional hospitality, exceptional food and drink, and a place where people feel at home."
