Hot sauce tops 8 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week

North Texas Hot Sauce Festival
Halloween festivities continue this week with one local winery set to host a "boo-zy" bash. Things get spicy on Saturday as a local brewery will host more than 40 vendors for an annual hot sauce festival. Finally, break clays and break bread with some of Fort Worth's best chefs during a clay shooting event for a good cause.
Tuesday, October 14
Chianti Wine Dinner at Caterina’s
This month’s wine dinner at Tim Love’s Italian dining destination in the Fort Worth Stockyards will feature Castello Monterinaldi chianti pairings. Menu items include burrata with grilled nectarine, linguini with cockles (a small shellfish), herb-crusted lamb, and pistachio cannoli. The dinner is $165 plus tax and gratuity, and begins at 6:30 pm.

House of Suntory Whisky Dinner at Cut & Bourbon
Two Loews Hotels dining concepts will collaborate for a five-course pairing dinner featuring cocktails by House of Suntory Japanese whisky. To be held at Cut & Bourbon, the steakhouse located inside Live! by Loews, the dinner will feature dishes in partnership with Soy Cowboy, the upscale Japanese concept located in the neighboring Loews Arlington Hotel. Dinner highlights include Soy Cowboy miso marinated black cod, A5 Wagyu with paddlefish caviar, and takoyaki waffle with grilled octopus. The dinner is $150 and begins at 6 pm with a cocktail recipe and Soy Cowboy omakase before a seating time of 6:30 pm.

North Texas Hot Sauce Festival at Martin House Brewing Company
It'll be a spicy Saturday with more than 40 Texas hot sauce vendors on-site for Texas’ largest hot sauce festival, held this year at the riverfront brewery. Live music, food trucks, flash tattoos, and an amateur pepper eating contest will also bring the heat. Wristbands good for four draft pours and a souvenir pint glass are $20 for those who wish to imbibe. The family-friendly event will run from 11 am–5 pm.
Fort Worth Taco & Margarita Festival
Tasting event at Landmark Bar & Kitchen will feature margaritas from area bartenders made with Casamigos Tequila. Sampling tickets start at $35 (including fees) and include entry at 3 pm along with three drink tickets and two food tickets, plus a raffle ticket for a chance to win a trip to Mexico. For $5 more, go VIP and get four drink tickets, three food tickets, two raffle tickets, and entry at noon. The party will run until 6 pm.
Pickle & Chill at Melt Ice Creams Grapevine
Fort Worth ice cream chain celebrates a new scoop shop inside Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine. Visit from 5–9 pm for their grand opening party featuring themed giveaways and fall-themed scoops. Chicken N Pickle is kid-friendly (there’s a playground) and dog-friendly, too.
Boos & Booze at Lost Oak Winery
Adults-only Halloween party (21-and-up) will feature dance music, food trucks, a costume contest, and award-winning Texas wines by Lost Oak Winery. The party will run from 7–10 pm and admission is free.
Sunday, October 19
Shooting with the Chefs
Break clays with Fort Worth chefs during this clay shooting event hosted by the Fort Worth Food + Wine Foundation. Taking place at Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch, the event will host guest chefs Gigi Howell (Westland Hospitality), Christian Lehrmann (Tinie’s), Marcus Paslay (Scratch Hospitality), Preston Paine (Emilia’s, The Blue Room), and many more. Teams of four can still sign up to shoot for $600, or spectators can pay $30 to simply watch. Lunch, drinks, and post-shoot entertainment is included. Check-in is at 9 am with a shotgun start at 10 am. Lunch will be served at 12 pm followed by awards and raffle ticket drawings at 1 pm.
Fort Worth Veg-Fest
All-vegan food festival and vendor market is hosted by Belenty’s Love Vegan Mexican Restaurant and will take place at Blank Space, at 6609 E. Lancaster Ave. The free, indoor-outdoor event promises around two dozen vendors and will run from 12–4 pm.
